Your chum Putin has just arrested a load of top brass, could you use your connections to ask why.....?  🤔

As everyone knows, NATO stands for No Action, Talk Only. If they felt they could have won a ground war against Russia, they would have probably gone in with all guns blazing. Since they can’t win the real war, they try to win the war of narrative. Judging from what we can see on this forum, it appears that they are very successful with some. Fortunately, the rest of the world is not as gullible.

Probably with a majority of the planet's countries, and even in the west it's mainly the leaders and their cronies, IMO. I doubt most western citizens agree with blowing women and children to bits in so called "safe zones".

Human wave attacks?  What makes you think that’s in the cards?  It would be NATO doing the attacking, trying to recapture territory already in Russian hands.  They’re dug in and have excellent artillery.  They’re already in place. They have excellent air defense systems. If NATO doesn’t like the current state of affairs , it will be NATO on the offensive.  And don’t forget the weather, the mud, and the terrible winters.  Historically, it hasn’t worked out too well for invading armies trying to conquer Russia.  Napoleon failed. Hitler failed. And as I’ve said, if nothing else, it’s a numbers game, and NATO simply doesn’t have the soldiers.

As for the Iraq war?  As I recall, it took months and months to assemble the troops and equipment.  And months of “softening up” the enemy with B52 bombers.  You really can’t compare Russia to Iraq. Different armies and a completely different set of circumstances on the ground. And in any real war, Russia won’t be sitting back simply watching the preparations.

Anyway, some people seem to be living in a fantasy world.  As if there’s a massive US military ready to go at a moment’s notice, and with the wave of a magic wand, massive armies could be assembled . Things don’t work that way.  Sure, the US could send over the 82nd airborne or other troops at a moment’s notice, but that wouldn’t be too effective.  Look at a map.  It’s a huge area.

No point talking sense. IMO too many people on here grew up with John Wayne winning the war single handedly to believe that the west will fail, never mind the real life examples of failures eg Vietnam and Afghanistan, and other examples of fiascos that sort of fizzled out like Iraq, or the draws like Korea.

Yes human waves

Human wave tactics are demoralizing the Russian army in Ukraine

The human wave tactics on display in eastern Ukraine reflect Russia’s narrowing military options following a year of embarrassing battlefield setbacks. The Russian military entered the current war with a reputation as the world’s number two army, but has performed remarkably poorly in Ukraine.

Russian TV has featured lots of threats of invasion of more countries.

are they lying?

You have explained Putin's ambitions and intentions on Ukraine in detail several times.

You mean you don't know?

If not, which source would be more accurate and trustworthy:

  1.  10000s of highly skilled  international experts in independent think tanks not controlled by any government, many from Russia, Eastern Europe, and the Balkan states.
  2. Russian state propaganda controlled by Putin.
  3. You.

Ukraine is conducting a strategic attack on Russian infrastructure, including oil refineries and petroleum storage. Such an attack could result in a sudden collapse of the Russian military, assuming the  damage is being generated faster than it can be repaired.

Ukraine doesn't seem to hit the same target more than once. I personally would hit a refinery, and then hit again while it is being repaired.

Do tell. You must be very busy to listen to THOUSANDS of highly skilled  international experts in independent think tanks not controlled by any government. I have probably listened to less than a hundred in the past couple years and those experts don't agree with you.

Just because they are from Russia or the Balkans, it doesn't make them correct. For every "expert" you put up I'm sure that there is one with an opposing opinion.

Doesn't matter anyway. Wars are won by hard men in the mud, not office workers or "think tank experts", and Ukraine is running out of them. Conscripts do not have their hearts in the conflict, else they'd have volunteered.

For me, it’s not a matter of “supporting “ one side or the other.  It all comes down to try to understand what is happening and why.  What is the historical context? Does this war make any sense?  What happens if it continues?  How and why did it start, and when?  What was the role of the United States in instigating the overthrow of a democratically elected president in Ukraine in 2014? Secret CIA bases in Ukraine? What about the Ukrainian treatment of Russian speaking people in the Donbas over the years? Genocide? US funded biolabs in Ukraine?

It’s all a mess that needs to stop, sooner rather than later. “Supporting “ one side or the other is counterproductive. To think otherwise is to accept the consequences of continuing escalation.  WW III.  Billions of deaths and the end of the world as we know it.  How does that make and sense?

I didn't want anyone to think I was laughing at the quotes so I have quoted you to laugh at your words.

Do you even know any Russians, and do you think not being an orc hater means we think it's OK to abuse prisoners?

That sort of thing happens in any war by both sides. There have apparently been abuses by Ukrainian soldiers against Russian POWs.

Reasons are simple. Putin is evil, he wants to re establish the old Soviet Union, he wants to conquer Ukraine, he wants to conquer all of Europe, he is afraid of losing the election so he initiates a war… People do believe the most amazing things. It’s a wonder there are still bridges left unsold lol.

If you look at videos about this then it seems the russians do not have the spare parts to repair these refineries.

They need to come from outside and despite what others are saying ,the sanctions do prevend

those parts from going to russia.

So no need to spent more ammo on something that is pretty much inactive.

For all of us who believe in freedom and realize we can not let the other side get away with lies and propaganda from russia.

Here is a great channel to watch and they have new content everyday, not only showing one sided news but also destruction on the Ukrainian side. Some videos show active battles ,not pretty.

Russia tried to attack Kharkhiv, the Ukrainian army managed to slow down the Russian advance. Now things are pretty much stalled.

The question is if the Ukrainians can counter-attack.

It's a good channel, with footage of the war, mainly Russian tanks getting splattered

Very interesting and telling comment , there is going to be a de-facto accpetance of territorial gains and frozen front lines. The Korean armistice and cease-fire is coming and then hopefully the senseless slaughter can stop. All maximalists are doing now is prolonging the war and suffering for the same end result.

But Ukraine isn’t winning.

Short of artillery, ammunition, air defences and most of all, troops, Ukraine is struggling to hold back the sheer weight of Russian firepower, glide bombs and massed infantry assaults that often border on the suicidal.

What, I asked Prime Minister Kallas, is Estonia’s Plan B if Ukraine loses this war and Russia’s invasion ultimately succeeds?

"We have no Plan B for a Russian victory," she replies, "because then we would stop focussing on Plan A" - helping Ukraine push back the Russian invasion.

"We should not give in to pessimism. Victory in Ukraine is not just about territory. If Ukraine joins Nato, even without some territory, then that’s a victory because it will be placed under the Nato umbrella."

Ukraine are on western aid life support. If the money stops the country collapses.

It’s a conundrum for President Volodymyr Zelenskiy, who is desperate to replenish his forces while ensuring that the shortage doesn’t damage an economy he needs to keep afloat.

“We are now in a war of attrition,” Ukrainian Deputy Central Bank Governor Sergiy Nikolaychuk said in an interview in Kyiv. “It is very difficult to choose between butter and guns.”

The problem will only intensify as the Russian invasion drags well into its third year and Kyiv is forced to fill a gap left by millions who have either fled the country, joined the army or fallen in battle. As Ukraine’s military struggles to hold the line against a fresh Russian offensive, its economy — which has lost a quarter of its output since the invasion began — risks being further weakened by the shrinking workforce.
