The agitated nature of the alleged perpetrator likely had a motive, such as the attendent robbing him at each fillup and he got fedup with it and gave the little weasel his due.

So sorry for the pump attendant, getting a measly 300 baht daily wage and have to deal with foreign freaks. 

It was noted on the local radio station that this guy is ex British military.
