Today, a homeless man was found dead on the side of a road close to a luxury house. He had been using a plastic sheet to protect himself from rain but ended up suffocating. The incident happened around 4.30 a.m. on Ngam Wong Wan Road in Bang Khen, Nontha Buri. The police and forensic doctors attended the scene.

The man, identified as 42-year-old Boonyuen, was discovered lying with a clear plastic sheet wrapped around him. He was dressed in a red t-shirt and blue pants, however, he wasn't wearing any shoes. Next to him was a small cart which he used for collecting recyclables to earn a living.

Initial investigations indicate that he'd been dead for at least five hours before being found. No evidence of physical assault was found. It's suspected that he suffocated after using a mask and the plastic sheet to protect himself from the rain.

Local residents mentioned that Boonyuen was a common sight in the area, pushing his cart and collecting recyclables. He had often been reported to the police for sleeping outdoors in front of people's houses, which resulted in police being called to move him, a local officer shared.

Boonyuen had chosen to sleep across from a large house in the alley and had covered himself with the plastic sheet to stay dry during the rain. Tragically, the heavy rain made the sheet stick to his body tightly, cutting off his air supply unbeknownst to him.

This sad event brings attention to the hardships faced by the homeless, often forced to look for makeshift shelters in very harsh conditions. The lack of a secure sleeping place and the need to keep changing locations due to complaints can lead to unsafe situations, as shown in this case.

Officials have urged the public to show empathy towards the homeless and to help them through the right channels instead of merely making them move.

Boonyuen's body has been sent to the Institute of Forensic Science for a detailed examination. The police are still investigating to confirm the exact cause of death.

If he wrapped it around himself, it could be the case that it was that, rather than the rain simply making it so heavy that it suffocated him.  Also a little unrealistic to suggest that it would cut off his air supply without him knowing, unless he wasn't conscious.

Possibly some alcohol or drugs involved, then he wrapped himself up making an airtight seal, and passed out.

The public has urged officials to create a social security net to provide the homeless with shelter, employment and dignity.

There is one man who can not be mentioned, who could fund this, but that would be critical of me.
