Nope, I'll say use CGI for shooting scenes.

And you will say, but, but, but that's not realistic... :omfg:

To which I will say, guess what it's a movie, they are not realistic by definition. :coffee1:

The Producer. In charge of the entire operation.

Why not wait for the trial to see what the evidence is and what the prosecution's  grounds for believing the producer liable are?

The Producer probably knows nothing about firearms either, that's why they pay an expert.

There should never have been any live ammo anywhere near these highly paid actors.😬

We don't even know if any actor was going to fire live ammo, perhaps the gun experts/stand ins were going to do that..🤗

I must add, I trained in the UK, PP1 (Police Pistol 1), you learn the correct procedures and handling of a weapon, even removing a gun from its case has a procedure.

When I watch YouTube vids on guns, USA, I can't believe what they do with them when loaded..................😱........ Completely gives the wrong message to a beginner........😬

Something for Conservatives to celebrate. They love extracting revenge on Liberals.  If the same thing happened and the director was conservative they'd be defending him to the end. Total hypocrisy.

The producer hired an armorer , an expert in weapons to make sure there was no way accidents like this never happened. She allowed live ammo on the set where there was absolutely no reason to have live ammo on a movie set.

If a producer hires a degreed and qualified engineer and a structure he designs fails and people are killed or injured, it's the engineer's responsibility.

If a producer hires an expert stunt coordinator and follows his advice and a stunt goes wrong, it's the stunt coordinator's fault.

If a producer hires a licensed caterer and they provide meals and people get sick or die from food poisoning, it's their fault, not the producer who hired them.

Actors aren't firearms experts or stuntmen, or stunt drivers or stunt pilots or ninjas or Jedis or stunt divers. They're not expected to check every prop, inspect every car, every motorcycle, every camera rig, every wire, every pad , every harness, every gun, every bomb, every light saber, every club or sword, every knife, evey bottle, every window, every prop nuclear warhead or anything else to make sure it's safe. Since they're not experts, how would they even know? They weren't taught to tell the difference between a live round, a blank and dummy bullet because that's not their responsibility.

Exactly. It seems the main reason MAGA fans are claiming he's guilty is because he made a parody of Trump! 😀

Why do none of the articles state the context. Was he waving the gun around? Was he simply doing actions with the gun the scene called for? To me these are the questions. If he was playing around with a gun or firing it unnecessarily in any way I think he needs to go down.

That's what it is, the only reason he's in court is because of Trump.

They have written protocol that everyone that touches the weapon, checks the weapon, including the actor.

I blame the armorer, but if Baldwin was supposed to check it, does he not also have some liability?

If I have hazardous waste in my factory, hiring an "expert" to take care of it does not relive me of my responsibility that it has to be handled and disposed of properly.

Rubbish, it was an actor on a film set where a PAID expert was in attendance to ensure safety.

It takes a while to learn how to be safe with a gun, I know.

The PAID safety was at fault, not an untrained actor...🥴

You obviously no nothing about gun safety.  I’m not surprised.

In all the years I qualified yearly for small arms. When you took procession, you acknowledged it was  it was unloaded and safe. Clear and safe. And only then did I load the gun. Always Cond 1. Then directly into holster. Never, ever were we handed a gun with a "good to go"

Is this way different? Of course it's different but should be same protocol with more than one person visibly checking ammo before gun is loaded. It only makes sense the actor shooting the gun should have a bit of knowledge of what the dummy rounds are.

Well, we'll see what comes out of the trial. I don't have any knowledge of protocols to follow in movie production, so I have no particular claim about it.

I just find it strange that when an actor is handed an accessory, he should be responsible about this accessory. Like if he has to drive a car, he should be responsible if breaks eventually don't work.

The example you give probably makes sense. However, in this case it was not 'his' gun.

The protocols were explained in the news after the incident. He also claimed (for a while) he did not pull the trigger, but that it just went off.

It's a union shop. If the rules say the actor checks the weapon, or the breaks, the actor should check the weapon, or breaks. Either the rules are to be followed, or they are not.

In this case he was the producer, so it was his weapon.

And as I said previously:  "That a tire specialist is in charge of checking the tires on an airliner does not excuse the pilot from their responsibility to check the tires as well."

They check them every time before they board the plane, and you can bet that id they don't, and there's a blow-out when they land, they'll be taken to task for it.

Correct decision.

Not only was he the producer of the movie (and therefore should take some responsibility if he hired incompetent safety personnel) but he picked up a loaded gun, pointed it at someone and pulled the trigger when they weren't even filming a scene.

He then denied pulling the trigger and claimed it just "went off". That was found to be impossible so he should also be charged for providing false evidence.

Of course, being a famous Hollywood actor he thinks he should just get away with all this.

As an aside, he should also be charged with goonery for calling his American wife (Hillary) Hilaria and claiming she is Spanish.

“Trained Police Pistol“

From a cereal box with a toy inside?

If you were as well trained as you claim you would know upon picking up a weapon to check the condition (battery) regardless of what anyone told you.  Firearms 101.

Baldwins incompetence is to blame.  Buck stops with him.
