Korat Kiwi
Certainly a nasty kick to the prone guys head. Could have killed him. When drinking, either pay as you go or check your tab each time. Simple way to track the bill. And don't get so drunk you make an arse of yourself! The on call security will be rounded up and spoken to... A few wai's and a bit of tea money all will be forgotten. Next! 1

I think the bad guys in this instance are the security guards. Nothing worse than a security guard who can't contain his aggression, who goes overboard with violence instead of keeping a level head as the job requires. 1

Because the guy in the white t-shirt refused to pay another customer's bill, and did not---as has been claimed---break any bargirl's nose? I'm going to High Tea at the Oriental today. I might even sit and linger, ordering a bottle or two of '61 Petrus. I'll let the cashier know you are going to cover it for me. If Pattaya's reputation is already lower than whale puke, then you are right. I do think the authorities will be compelled to engage in some sort of damage control, as UK tabloids and other media probably cover it in detail. A Prefect Renault response is not going to be enough.

When they tried he refused, became annoyed and verbally abusive. Security arrived and then started fighting and assaulting the punters. On the other hand, Mr. Ball disclosing that he was allegedly initially assaulted by a tourist WOT??? The spliced video, which includes CCTV from the bar, does seem to suggest who threw the first punches, as it begins with the genesis of the seeming disagreement and the sudden appearance of the guards, all the way to the first punch. I responded to that fellow not necessarily with proven facts, but an alternative to his apparent beliefs that the guys deserved the beating. The video evidence does not point to them deserving any sort of beating. Unlike the poster to whom I responded, I'm neither condemning the guards nor the customers, but questioning his assertion that the Brits deserved it. Perhaps you will ask him why they deserved it. 1 1

But we don't like any talk of attracting the big spending quality tourists who drive up prices of stuff. And the thought of tightening visa/extension requirements always causes screams, teeth gnashing, and soiled knickers. If only we could figure out how to screen out the hooligans and admit only the sort of Brit not likely to engage in thuggery. Here's what we want: 4
