LBJ did nothing until he was pressured to act.

Yes, it took LBJ a whole year after the election to pass the Voting Rights Act of 1965.

Which Republicans are still attacking.

In accordance to the IRS rules.

He created jobs in which workers paid taxes.

Of course that doesn’t meet the guidelines of the Democratic Party.  Take from the rich to support the deadbeats.

Because you don't believe that billionaires should pay taxes. Because they are special.

Not talking voting.  Civil rights and violence towards the blacks.

They pay in other ways.

Scroll up a few posts.

Cost money to set up business that creates jobs.  Capitalism.

Socialist types don’t understand that.

Protesting against Biden's Israel policies at American universities leads to police violence against the protesters. Is America a communist state?

Trump changed the tax laws to save him money. Billionaires should pay taxes on their income. And. Taxes on their businesses. Quite simple.

https://apnews.com/article/russia-trump-putin-us-election-2828902db670e00af3b1ac871938b96e   Trump's attacks on US justice system after guilty verdict could be useful to autocrats like Putin

After his historic guilty verdict in his hush money case, Donald Trump attacked the U.S. criminal justice system, making unfounded claims of a “rigged” trial that echoed remarks from the Kremlin.  “If they can do this to me, they can do this to anyone,” Trump said Friday, speaking from his namesake tower in New York on Friday.

Thousands of miles away, Russian President Vladimir Putin was probably “rubbing his hands with glee,” said Fiona Hill, a former senior White House national security adviser to three U.S. presidents, including Trump.

Hill and other analysts say Trump’s attacks could be useful to Putin and other autocrats as they look to boost their standing among their own citizens, potentially sway the upcoming U.S. presidential election in which Trump is the presumptive Republican nominee, and undermine the United States’ global influence.

I've spent a lot of time in China.

Obviously you never been there or didn’t bother to talk to anyone. When the question is posed to Chinese citizens to differentiate between the US and China-the answer is almost always nearly the same- a robotic cookie cutter assimilated response “China is a communist country. America is a capitalist country.” It’s been drilled into their mind frame that the US wants to invade China and go to war, the propaganda there is so insidious, the mindset is nearly organic. You really need to get out more and civilly converse with others that are completely different than yourself, then perhaps a better understanding of the world will come to light.

Spent months traveling around. Independent travel. China has a communist government, but is very capitalist. If you've ever been there, you'd know. Guaranteed. I've been to more countries than you have. Guaranteed.

The post was edited replacing protest with riot. The answer is no, anyone being a US citizen or not can protest against the US government without fear of detained. Rioting, well that’s not a protest unless you’re unwittingly and willfully heading down the path of authoritarianism.

and your point is? Educated folks cant be supporters of the MAGA movement? What part of policy/philosphical differences is unusual to you?

"Educated folks" don't claim they're "Educated folks..." Tooting one's own horn is never considered bien-eleve'. Oh pardon my French - but since we are on that subject:

You're arguing with yourself Mon Ami,

Nor do "Educated folks..." sprinkle cheap French cologne  - Mon Ami," "Adieu" (in another post) - on their speech, though it might help masking the stench.

[Btw, what happened to "little fella"? that one sounded "educated" enough - oh, I see. No, I never thought you were referring to Trump. I swear.]

Anyway last but not least "Educated folks" don't show their tail, oh pardonnez-moi, their roots this way...

That depends on who the convicted felon is. If you're Joanne chesimard, a cop killer, or Mumia, a cop killer, or Bill Ayers, a terrorist bomber, or George Floyd, you're a hero

Personally, I'd much rather have a dude living in the pad next door who's felony was that his internal bookkeeping was" fraudulent" as opposed to the cop killers and terrorists celebrated by the left

...because putting one foot in one's mouth is never apropos.

And I know a few people here in Thailand that’s been here for ten or twenty years and don’t bother getting to know the people here, they just isolate themselves with their wives or friends at the bars. Just because someone been to a place doesn’t mean they know. The capitalism in China is tightly controlled by the government, communist government, communist capitalism to further the power of the government. Pseudo capitalism.

Just because the official line in China is that China is Communist doesn't mean it's true.

Unless you believe them.

What aspect of China is Communist?

Id like to know who changed my text of 'protesting' to 'rioting'.

You?

Sorry to interrupt this little spat. But I found this of interest. It is from an opinion piece in the NYT suggesting Hunter Biden should take a plea deal in his upcoming case, but it would also pertain to DJT if he ever goes to court.

"To bring federal charges, the Department of Justice manual advises that a prosecutor should believe that the defendant is guilty, that the prosecutor believes he has evidence that will prove the defendant is guilty beyond a reasonable doubt, and that the prosecutor believes that a reasonable jury would convict the defendant. In practice, this means that once the Department of Justice has indicted you, they believe they will win. And they almost always do.

Over a 12-month period ending last fall, just 290 of the nearly 72,000 federal criminal defendants charged by the Justice Department were acquitted at trial. That’s less than one half of 1 percent. (Of course, only 1,379 were convicted at trial — a paltry 2 percent.) The vast majority facing a D.O.J. indictment decided either to plead guilty outright or accept a plea deal, believing that the prosecutor had correctly weighed their chances of winning in front of a jury before bringing the case in the first place."

Just like Trump, Hunter Biden is being charged with a paperwork error.

Yes, I guess lying on a form could be called a paperwork error.

I can understand why you are so upset now that a loser like Trump, that you all can apparently relate to, is a convicted felon.
