Marks and Spencers have stores in Thailand and have good quality skiddies available. However, commando is the way to go i reckon, except when wearing jeans.

I have bought my underwear at M&S in the UK for many years, The Thai branches charge UK prices, if not more, so when I found that Big C undies are just as good quality I switched. Look around in LOS, there is comparable quality to your home country available.

Funny, I do the opposite, stock up in Thailand. Have you tried the budget-priced briefs from Tesco Lotus? I got a bunch in March and they show no signs of "falling apart in the washing machine," and they're comfortable and cheap.

Trust a fellow Canuck to start an underpant thread.

I tried to buy in bulk when at home, but often found some sweet cotton underwear at one department store (SBK -- the Samui Mart with the escalator in Nathon; nice new av BTW). Whether imports or domestic brands, they all fell apart more rapidly than at home, especially the elastic. Is it the detergent, the water, the fabric softemer? This is especially true in rainy season when nothing dries properly. I did discover the "back of the fridge" drying technique. Only works if the coil things are on the outside of the fridge and you clean them off first, but works like a charm. Also, must have lots of undies, because I put on fresh ones after every shower, which could be five times a day.

Yes, LannaB, I love Canadian Tire.

Mucky, I hate curling (all they do is shout -- what is it, HARD!? and slide). I love my chuckwagon races. I always wanted to be an outrider so I could collect the stove. You heard they banned calf roping?

LOL, only underwear? How about underwear, shirts, shorts, slacks, shoes, flip flops. I stock up on all that when back home and pay the excess luggage charge. Great quality stuff, I forgot how much better everything is. It lasts 10 times as long

Better made is an illusion brought on by location and pride....... it's all made in the same place :o

I don't have a single item of clothing left that I brought with me, but I still have shirts that I bought on the local night market two years ago.

A few years back, wifey wanted me to buy a pair of Adidas shoes from a real Adidas shop in BKK...... under duress I did. 3,500 Bahts worth, completely useless after six months...... a pair of Adifaf 500 Baht specials are still going strong two years later.

Anyway, back to the OP...... I have found little or no difference between the quality of grundies bought here or elsewhere. The only difference that counts is the weight of material, here it's lighter, and anything that prevents betty swollocks is fine by me.

What sort of special Canadian underwear do you buy - lined with beaver fur? Please post picture or description, & not with you wearing it please. Yes, I miss those special visits to the hardware store. You don't buy your underware there do you?

We don’t use Beaver fur any more, Al Gore said it contributed to global warming. But we still use the Saskatchewan seal skin laces to keep everything snug.

The tale of how I discovered my favorite brand of boxers is a bit tough on my fragile macho identity, I dare not tell it. However it was not at a hardware store.

Hey Jet how do you know they’re sweet?

As a cowboy at heart, I hate to hear about changes in rodeo. But really calf roping was doomed years ago, it looks so violent, hard to defend really. Also it is not nearly as complete a sport as wild cow milking eh? Over in 7.3 seconds, The ladies aren’t impressed at all.

Never constrain the dangleberrys.. Ventilate and aspirate..

under wear free since 93 !!

That must be a lot of skid marks in that time,

Your shorts must look like the starting grid for the F1 at Silverstone.

After four years in Thailand I still refuse to change my underwear. I simply won’t do it.

OP, you are extremely DISGUSTING and I would stay away from you.

Any decent (normal) male with enough self respect should change his underwear at least once a week. :o

Maybe twice! :D

Always import from the UK

Boxers - Next

Socks - Rohan and Next

I just find that the quality is better and probably I'm typical of most people, I don't really like too much change.

Just to clear it up before anyone says anything, I do change them everyday!!!

Beaver is very expensive these days. Most good felt hats now use rabbit. Boxers not good for Thailand, I think, to hot & easy to get knotted up. The best I have found is HOM brand in Central, Zen or Isetan very skimpy, cool & sexy. Not much left for the ladies to rip them off you, ha, ha. Steel belted thongs from Canadian Tyre sound interesting though.

Skid marks ??

The bum gun keep them as a distant memory ?? Even before skid marks would be from childhood or really unwell.. Would you walk around in skidded underwear ??

Me too. Usually just once.

I buy them here, but they are imported from home.

What happens, if you don’t have the bum gun or the bowl option?

Too skid mark or not too skid mark that is the question.

After four years in Thailand I still refuse to change my underwear. I simply won’t do it. There is a lot of stuff I had to give up when I moved here; things like weekend bonspiels, prairie oysters, or being able to visit a hardware store for advice. But some things are just too essential.

Every year when I make it back to Canada, I make sure I get to my favorite shop and purchase enough fresh gonch to last another year. I like my brand, it fits me right, I have tried the local variety, and it just isn’t me. I just won’t change!

And now I want to know, how many Thai Visa members import their undies? I have a lady friend who does the same as me; for her it’s a proportion thing. She can’t find satisfaction in Thai lingerie, so she gets her intimates overseas. How about the rest of you, what personal items do you insist on bringing from the hinterland?

Not changing his underwear? Canuckamuck indeed!

But then I read to the end.

I've just got back from UK with packets of M & S briefs. I had to go back specially to get them because the extra large ones I was forced to buy from Big C (Small P?) were destroying my manhood.

I compromised for a bit by wearing them back to front which provided just enough capacity for my tackle, but my wife was giving me funny looks. It's the same old thong but with a different feeling... !

Why do these Thai ladies so love us? For the size of our wallets?

Am I really posting about underpants at mid-day stone cold sober??!! This is where I'm beginning to regret not using a pseudonym!

Hey underwear is an important quality of life issue. It’s more important than discussions about banning the word soccer when talking about football (I mean the football that is actually soccer not the five other types of football).

But yeah, the anonymity is a boon especially since half the posters didn’t get the joke in the title and think I actually wear 4 year old skivvies.

Funny that, I stock up with Jockey trunks when I am in bangkok.

Robinsons do them but you have to get the right size,

the label means nothing get bigger than you normally use

ie if you buy large at home get xxxl.

Another Thaivisa anal retentive :o

He's not retaining anything. He is spewing forth his most intimate desires & wants. Now we need to hear from the ladies, who have been rather silent on this one. I wonder what is their preference, ie for a man to wear. Steel belted radials or something a bit less constricting.

A chastity belt!! :bah::D:D

Seriously, for me, those fitted cotton shorts. Not loose boxers, you know the tight ones, a la Marky Mark for Calvin Klein :o:D
