My go backpack when living in a natural disaster (earthquake) area was:

 

1. Glock 19, 4 mags, 300 rounds

2. Colt M4, 4 mags, 300 rounds

3. Svea 123R stove

4. Extra Fuel bottle.

5. Two weeks MREs and 60 days meds

6. Pro First Aid Kit (scalpels, sutures, morphine, etc)

7. Illumination Device

8. Paracord

9. Firestarter

10. Water filter

11. Glock entrenching tool

12. Glock field knife

13. Flexible saw

 

Now I just grab wallet, phone and passport and hope someone else is prepared.

I haven't waded through all of this - I only read the 1st page, and I'm wondering - you really keep your PASSPORT in a 'grab bag' that you can leg it with?

I hope you have it well chained down, wherever you keep it.

Before you go you have to have a place to go,

In an ever increasing digital world it's becoming more difficult to stay under the radar,

If you're talking something apocalyptic those things will have little value, gasoline, small caliber bullets will be the new currency,

Where I live surrounded by gum trees on hot windy summer days best to have a bag with documents and photos. Big risk of bushfire.

I'm retired.  I wear a lightweight cotton safari jacket, white short-sleeved shirt and usually sport a narrow blue tie.  Shorts are only for the beach of course, so black chinos for me.

 

Honestly, I think some of you retired are absolute slobs, perhaps American 🙂

Well at least as the tourist hotspot of Angkor Wat goes, the only folks I see walking around looking like you are yanks or Hans, although they have umbrellas.

I’m retired as well. What’s a safari jacket? 

 

I generally wear a long sleeve sport shirt and pleated trousers. I have a billfold in my hip pocket, so I don’t need to carry a bag, but I don’t think you gay for carrying one. Not that there’s anything wrong with being gay and carrying a bag of course.
