"...not ... following the road rules as deligently as I do after drinking".

So your drunk driving is, somehow, "diligently following the law"?  Are you drunk?

I think you know what I meant Lou.
Don’t speed, make sure I stop fully at stop signs, always indicate etc etc

Lou being Lou.

I'm not telling you because I want a medal, nor a smiley face. I'm pointing out that you writing that the reason you don't drive while drunk is because there's a higher chance that you might get caught rather than it being bloody stupid makes you sound like a muppet.

You then equating not driving drunk to being a "good boy" elevates muppet to complete tool.

Well said.

Sorry to hear that.

What were the circumstances? Was he speeding, ran a red light ?

The alcohol doesn’t kill you, it is the driving mistake.

I guess the thought process must be similar to amulets.....they work really well....until they don"t.

I can drive drunk and never have accident or kill anyone until........

Which is a shame.......I'd hate to think you watched a drunken neighbour leave your soi on a regular basis and one day wipe out an innocent family on the expressway....I would feel a strong sense of responsibility for 'allowing' that to happen.

Maybe you should join the tourist Police?  you can then report on people all day long

Hundreds of my friends over the years have also done it and ALL have made it safely home unless being stopped by police.

What is a bit trickier is when having quite a few beers then you hit the bong.

That is when (occasionally) you have to close one eye so to stop the double vision and slow down a bit more.

Couldn't agree more......equally dangerous using a phone whilst driving.

Had a messy divorce, went out and got plastered, wouldn't have it when the landlord refused to let him drink more, punched the landlord in the face to get his car keys back, then drove into a concrete wall instantly killing himself and leaving his best mate, who had egged him on, with a disfigured face for the rest of his life.

It's not my place tot judge people. Drink driving is common, especially here, but bragging about it boils my piss.

Quite exceptional circumstances and I agree he should not  have been to driving in that situation.

i am for sensible drink driving. Some of my friends ( mostly when younger) I would not get in a car drunk with because they drove like idiots when drunk.

Everybody drink drives on the darkside. They have done for years.

And they enjoy their lives, and make it home.

If I had to catch taxis everytime my social life would have been significantly diminished

Yes, what you meant is that three times a week you're a self-righteous, irresponsible drunk driver bragging about your self-perceived drunk driving "abilities".

You are giving off the self righteous vibes, not me.

I am just stating the reality.

In the case of Woofs father I would say probably.

I don't think that exists unless you're talking about a couple of pints maximum. It's so easy to get transport here, especially somewhere like Pattaya.

Lived there for 9 years. I'll be there again next week to party. Many if not most of my mates ride / drive drunk regularly. I've probably been close myself if I was totally honest. It happens. It's part of life but it's easily avoided.

Like I said, I'm far from innocent in many aspects and it's not my place to point the finger, but bragging about drink driving is, well, you know what it is.

Are you drunk now, as 3 x 52 x 30 = 4680 and not 900

I thought 900 sounded a bit low.

That is a lot of money saved by not paying for taxis unnecessarily.

it adds up.

I wasn't there, I was 14 at the time. I met the landlord several times afterwards and thanked him for his efforts. It would have been well over 10 pints of guinness (never did like the stuff) and probably a barrel of rum or two. He was an ex Navy guy.

Perhaps he was killed by a self-aggrandising drunk driver who ineptly thought he was conforming to the road rules?
