Do you know (Americans SS) to change ?
Understand that those are the standard MC and VISA network exchange rates.... BUT, your U.S. bank can and often does charge foreign currency transaction fees on ATM withdrawals, purchases, and fund transfers in/to foreign countries such as Thailand. Generally in the 3-4% range for many of the larger U.S. banks. Because the U.S. banks basically are oriented toward a domestic U.S. audience and not an expat audience, they typically don't do a very good job of disclosing whether they charge FCFs and if so at what rates. You often have to delve into their often buried online fee schedules to find that kind of detail. So in the case of a U.S. debit card withdrawal here in Thailand, it will be processed at the then current VISA or MC foreign exchange rate, MINUS any FCFs charged by the U.S. FI that issued your debit card. Sometimes those fees are listed separately in online banking, and in other cases, they're simply rolled into the broader transaction, depending on the FI. -

TRD also doesn't recognize the special status the US tax code gives to IRA's, 401k's, HSA's and other special tax deferred accounts. My opinion is: If Thailand does move to worldwide income taxation all those "special" US accounts will be treated as ordinary savings/investment accounts where TRD will consider income earned will be assessable in the tax year that it is earned. So, yes withdrawals will include only money that TRD has already taxed. -

Move Forward opposes any plan to allow a US base in Thailand and commits to uphold its sovereignty
The US air bases in Thailand were needed for the carpet bombing of Indochina but the US has no current need for anything in Thailand. Fake news. -

Must Read Its Happening - Law to Tax Overseas Income Now in Progress
If we can get past January 1st without it being passed, then I would think that would negate 2025 as a start date for any World Wide income tax. For now that is what I am hoping for, but still have to deal with remittances issues. -

The Thai ETA (Electronic System for Travel Authorisation)
Post you responded to I said I'm not sure when other airlines will follow suit (in doing self check-in only). What has you quoting Jetstar or Vietjet changed what I said in that I'm not sure when other airlines will follow suit? -
