Pattaya — A Thai man passed away in a restaurant in Pattaya and his family suspected the victim might have been beaten to death by people at the restaurant due to signs of injuries all over his body.

The incident took place early this morning, July 18th, 2024, at an Isaan restaurant along Highway 3009, Nongprue sub-district, Banglamung district, Chonburi province. Upon receiving the report, police officers from the Banglamung Police Station, reporters from The Pattaya News, and rescue volunteers rushed to the scene.

At the eatery, authorities found the body of Mr. Somkid Muenpol, a 34-year-old Thai man. He was lying dead on the floor inside the coffee shop adjacent to the Isaan restaurant. His body reportedly showed signs of assault, with a swollen and bruised face and head, and bruises all over his body. His glasses were found broken nearby.

Police cordoned off the area to prevent people from tampering with evidence. Nearby, the victim’s white Isuzu D-Max pickup truck was found parked without signs of theft.

The restaurant owner and a group of teenagers at the restaurant were described by police as uncooperative when they were asked about the incident. The owner tried to close the restaurant, and the teenagers attempted to leave the scene. Their names were withheld by police pending further investigation.

it must be hard to beat yourself to death. No wonder he needed a coffee.

Of course, as only the police are allowed to tamper with evidence.

I dare say with the right money it will go down as a violent epileptic fit.

Glock! Don't leave home without one because you never know when you might need to shoot some c*** in the face.

Thailand was once a nice place to live in.

It's easy, just tie your hands behind your back first, then it's definitely self inflicted.

This reticence to name places is getting tiresome. I like to know as it sounds like somewhere worth avoiding......Nongprue, Banglamung, well I have heard that used for places in central Pattaya (which it isn't) and well out on the darkside near the lake. Where is Hwy 3009?
