Rep. Seth Moulton (D-Mass.) said that fellow Marine Corp veteran Sen. JD Vance (R-Ohio), who was chosen this week as former President Trump’s running mate, doesn’t uphold “Marine values.”

Moulton joined Crooked Media’s “Pod Save the World” on Friday where he was asked by Tommy Vietor what he thought about Trump’s recent announcement of naming Vance as his vice president at the Republican National Convention, as Moulton and Vance are both veterans.

“He’s a Marine Corps veteran. I mean, a combat correspondent. He didn’t do much fighting and he doesn’t exactly uphold Marine values,” Moulton said. “In fact, not even close to it.”

“I consider him one of the biggest hypocrites in Congress, someone who wrote a book, completely contradicted by his candidacy, someone who assailed Trump, before he became a sycophant,” he continued.

Yes, JD posses that vicious cynical look he's hiding behind "easy-going everybody's pal" appearance.

And no, JD is not veteran, he didn't fight to defend his country.

Dear @stoner, us have different grasp on term "veteran" I assume. And term "tour" as well.

Meanwhile I found it very peculiar why Trump choose JD?

They are so different! From different galaxies - that much.

What's in common between them?

I can only say there's something sinister behind his flashy smile and over-cheerful performance at RNC.

Technically, yes.....he is a veteran according to the VA.

a veteran is defined as anyone who served in the active military, naval, or air service and was discharged or released under conditions other than dishonorable.

But no, not in the contemporary meaning of the word when used with the general public.

He was not a warrior, he saw no combat, he never fired a shot in anger.  He was a "military journalist" charged with writing patriotic propaganda puff pieces and shuttling VIP's around.

The OP report says Rep. Moulton served four tours... no mention of that re JD Vance.

"Moulton served as a Marine Corps officer after graduating from college in 2001. He served four tours in Iraq."

A Democrat Senator maligns a Republican Senator.

What's new?  It happens in reverse too.  And I'm sure that Rep. Seth Moulton (D-Mass.) thinks that Trump is Hitler and is a Danger To Our Democracy which is why he should be stopped from being allowed on the ballot.  Right?  That's the New And Improved Democracy.

He joined the Marines in 2003 and served as a combat correspondent – or military journalist – until 2007,

Vance was deployed to Iraq for six months in late 2005. Based on his memoir, he would “attach to different units to get a sense of their daily routine,” escort civilian press, and write stories about individual marines.

He was deployed to Iraq as a combat correspondent for six months in late 2005.[13][14] There, he was assigned to the Public Affairs section of the 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing.[15][16] About his service, he commented that it "taught me how to live like an adult" and he was "lucky to escape any real fighting"

Perfect fit to be second-fiddle running mate to Trump, considering the later's determined escape from military service.

Donald Trump avoided the military draft 5 times, but it wasn't uncommon for young men from influential families to do so during the Vietnam War

  • President Donald Trump received military draft deferments five times — once for bad feet and four times for college.
  • Thanks in part to the deferments, he did not serve in Vietnam.
  • The president has received criticism for dodging the draft, including from members of Congress. Democratic Sen. Tammy Duckworth, a Purple Heart recipient, once called him "Cadet Bone Spurs."

So you're going to get into a dick measuring contest.

Let's see:
Moulton - A USMC Officer and a Gentleman, four tours in Iraq, and a real swell guy!  I'll give him 10 inches.
Vance - A lowly USMC enlisted, 1 tour in Iraq, and a nobody compared to long-Seth Moulton!  I'll give him 2 inches.

The USMC "Zero" wins!  Hallelujah.

Moulton - Best thing since Patton.
Vance - Probably Goebbels reincarnated.  Better pull his USSS detali and give it to Dr Biden and see what happens.

Biden received five student draft deferments and a medical exemption

Born in November 1942, Biden came of age amid the Vietnam War. But unlike millions of men of his generation, he never served in the military.

Biden received five student draft deferments, first as an undergraduate at the University of Delaware and later as a law student at Syracuse University.

And after a medical exam in April 1968, he received the "1-Y" classification, which meant he could only be drafted in a national emergency.

Gosh!

If only Beau hadn't been consumed down to his erect leg hairs by cannibal cornpops in the battle box!

Then we'd have a real contest.
