Yep. Regular people got chump change back, and billionaires got billions.

Rich got way richer under Obama

Poor started making a comeback under Trump

Biden managed to stop that nonsense big-quick.

Biden should have had a plan when.he took the watch.

Unfortunately, Trump declined to brief the Biden team during the transition, so they had no chance to prepare.

Did you come up with that talking point by yourself, or was it sent to you? In either case, you seem to have a poor memory of recent history.

Excuses, excuses. Biden went against the advice of his military advisors. Anybody who can read or cares knows the truth.

My heart goes out to you, as a supporter of Trump. Must be a tough time. And contrary to what you think, it will only get worse. Both he and Vance are melting down before our eyes. They are both awful campaigners.

I could write the same thing about you with your OTT hatred of Trump that apparently consumes you, you talk about it so much.

I'll be thinking about you when he wins.

How long did they need? They had months and months and months. Perhaps Biden was just incompetent.

He (like most leftists) cars nothing about the truth. He knows it was Bidens fault, but he has to lie for the "greater good", i.e. the left maintaining power.

That's hilarious.

Why is that hilarious. Stock market tanked when covid got bad. Rich have most shares. Government handouts went to all and sundry - a lot went to criminals and scams but that's another story. I wouldn't think you would like handouts to the poor and middle as a way of balancing equity  - as that is a form of  socialism.

Yes inflation is a factor affecting the poor and middle and it is up to you whether you believe the effects of covid, supply issues post covid, and ukraine war played the most significant factor or not. But if you worked hard and invested in the last 4 years you should've done ok which is surely what Republicans want.

It's hilarious because anyone that is able to read a chart, and that is honest can see how much the wealth gap widened under Obama, how it started to narrow under Trump before COVID, and how it got back on track under Biden. And every Harris policy I'm aware of will only widen the gap further.

The left now points at the stock market to prove how great the economy is, but most everyone that is honest knows that stock market growth disproportionately benefits rich, particularly since the Fed got involved in quantitative easing.

"Wealth inequality dropped in 2019 in the US for the first time in almost three decades, but proposed tax legislation is threatening to reverse the progress."

Yes, we democrats abhor the truth, we love lies, we also enjoy drinking the blood of babies in pizza parlor basements, most of us are communist, and we are all unpatriotic. We hate our country, and are really really bad people.

OK. I appreciate the clarification. I happen to be a centrist democrat and I detest progressive policy and PC nonsense. It makes me happy to see a republican making that distinction, it's not all too common these days.

That's an interesting take.

What did Biden do that went against the advice of his military advisers?

Harris is far left. Trump is near the centre.

So if a bit more equality is something you'd like between rich and poor -  then letting the Trump tax cuts that hugely benefited the wealthy expire would be a good thing

Please support your claim with facts, not opinion pieces.

Do people that pay high tax rates generally benefit (directly) more from tax cuts than people that do not pay taxes? Sure.

To be clear, almost half of US households pay no federal income tax.

- so there is more money to spend on helping lower income earners get a start, government in a better position to make health care and medicine more affordable, put a bit more balance in workplaces so workers can fight for fair but not over the top benefits  and pay rises, more infrastructure building that helps business and the people etc etc, and then they'll be a bit more balance. Democrats would like much of this but the Republicans often have the power to stop it.

Not sure what Harris policies make the rich get richer and the poor get poorer.

Do you have anything that shows how welfare general improves people's lives long term?

Name a few of Harris' policies and I'll explain.

Here's one:

Flooding the country with illegal aliens:

Puts downward pressure on wages, which is great for the rich.

Puts upward pressure on housing costs, which is also great for the rich.

Reduces the quality and availability of social services, which will benefit many of the rich, and that the rest of the rich do not care about.

Increases the size of government, which will benefit many of the rich.

Overburden public schools, disproportionally forcing up the cost while at the same time reducing the quality, will benefit a few of the rich directly, some of the rich indirectly, and which the rest of the rich do not care about.

That's why Harris supports open borders. She is pretending she does not because she has to win the election, but she does.

Her actions speak so loudly I can't hear anything she says, which is almost nothing.

The premise of your argument is that Kamala is lying which is an opinion too.

My opinion for what it's worth  is that both sides - for different but similar reasons - have been happy with the cheap labour over a long period of time, but I think there is clearly a much stronger groundswell of opinion now, that something has to be done. Biden was slow to be fair. But them Trump stopped legislation that would've helped as has been said many times.

I think if Kamala gets in and wants a second term she'll need to do something concrete and significant. The left of the party is pro immigration in a way that I think is too idealistic but I think she has got the message that being more moderate  is the best path to keeping power.

The illegals are the cheap laborers serving a need.

This "groundswell" has been around since the '90s when Clinton ran on it. The left used to run on closing the border when they cared about the working class.

Biden was not slow. Biden immediately reversed all of the programs initiated by the Trump Administration and re-opened the border to illegal aliens.

Biden-Harris:

  • Suspended Trump's remain in Mexico policy
  • Stopped construction of the border wall, sold off the components
  • Lifted the Trump imposed title-two restrictions that turned back unaccompanied minors
  • Canceled Trump's expedited removal policies
  • Reversed refugee bans from key regions and enabled flights from those regions to begin

These were all polices the left fought tooth and nail in the courts and in the press.

Yes, this lie has been told over and over here.  The bill Biden tried to get passed would do nothing but process the illegal aliens into the country more quickly and help get the illegal aliens legalized and subsidized as quickly as possible. Only a few "Chamber of Commerce" Republicans supported it.

As soon as it looked like the border would cost them the election, Biden reimplemented some of Trump's policies and finally got the border closed.

It is worth noting, that HR2, a bill that actually would close the border passed the house over a year ago, but Democrat controlled Senate stopped it. Why does that not get any press?

Harris is on record supporting amnesty and fast-track path to citizenship for illegals, as well and free medical care for illegal aliens.

Sure, if she's elected, She'll beef up border "security" and nominate thousands of leftist immigration judges. she'll modulate the border and in her first term she'll FastTrack all the illegals in the country to citizenship and get them voting.

Second term border is back to wide open.

It is amusing that you still believe a media that has been swearing for years that Biden is sharp as a tack, that his aides can't keep up with him and that the videos showing Biden's condition were phony and had been generated by the evil Republicans.

The need of the rich to have cheap housekeepers, nannies, gardeners, employees and so they can eat cheap peaches?

The labor force participation rate in the US is at about 63%, why do we need to import millions of illegal aliens?

How about the rich clean their own homes and pay enough to hire Americans?

I always find it amusing and slightly sad how Trump supporters go on and on about immigration, and yet their man is the one who killed the bipartisan immigration bill, by discouraging Congress and the Senate to vote for it, to score political points. Another example of a spectacularly selfish man, always acting in his own self-interest and never considering the benefit of the nation.

That is exactly correct, neither the US, nor Thailand, nor many other countries could get by without cheap immigrant labor, some of its legal, some of it's illegal.

The other aspect of this argument that nobody wants to talk about is the legal immigration system and how broken it is and the need to reform a 70-year-old quota system which is completely outdated. A guy from India studies at MIT, graduates at the top of his class in nuclear physics, and can't get a visa to work in the US because of the broken quota system.

That is stupid and bizarre. Yet, few want to speak of it, or address it.
