A tear-jerking tragic event unfolded at a hospital, where a group of nurses and volunteers surprised a four year old child with a birthday cake and a final gift from his father, who had recently died in a road accident.

A motorcycle accident involving a cement truck occurred in front of a resort on Highway 2032, Sri Songkhram-Thakadokkeaw Road, in Sri Songkhram Municipality, Sri Songkhram District, Nakhon Phanom Province.

The incident, which happened at 8.17pm yesterday, July 29, resulted in the death of 31 year old Sanya, a single father. Sanya had been riding his motorcycle to deliver a toy to his four-year-old son, who was undergoing treatment at Sri Songkhram Hospital in Nakhon Phanom.

A TikTok user with the account pon4293, who is a volunteer aiding those in distress, posted a video capturing the emotional moment. In the video, nurses and volunteers brought a birthday cake and a special final gift from the boy’s father, who had tragically passed away without the boy’s knowledge.

The video description reads, “Does the little one know he no longer has a father? The nurses and volunteers brought a cake and gifts to encourage the deceased’s son.”

The footage shows a nurse carrying a birthday cake to the boy’s bedside, where his aunt was already present.

The aunt, Pon, who was aware of the father’s recent death, recognized the significance of the cake and began to cry out of sympathy for her nephew. The boy, still unaware of his father’s passing, got up to blow out the candles on the cake brought by the nurses and volunteers. He then received a special gift from his father, a toy car, said Pon.

“Relatives informed me that the toy car was meant to be a birthday gift for Sanya’s son, who turned four today. Sanya passed away in the accident earlier this evening.”

The information Pon received was particularly heartbreaking, as the child’s mother had abandoned him when he was just one month old. Since then, his father and aunt had been raising him together. The father’s sudden and unannounced death left behind only the final gift from him. The boy is currently being treated for asthma at Sri Songkhram Hospital, unaware that his father’s body has already been sent back home.

The video shared by Pon has touched many hearts, serving as a testament to the resilience of the human spirit and the kindness of strangers in the face of tragedy.
