Road rules in Thailand are very right wing ie barely exist. Socialist western nations fine you $1000 for using a mobile phone or $400 for not wearing a seat belt.

Thailand has the same rules. It is not so much a marker of being right or left wing as one of Police incompetence and corruption.

We left the Asian hating bigots at home.

Read along some more threads.  Thai bashing, Indian bashing, and Chinese bashing are predominant themes.

The same thing can be said about the infestation of AN by right wing loonies.

ordinary members should be allowed to lean whichever way they so wish and be allowed to express themselves freely.

the powers that be should remain neutral.

sadly that just isn't the case here.

This is a distortion of history.

Understandable how someone lacking in critical thinking might think this;

the Nazi party was called the National Socialist party.

Guess what, people lie.

Do you think that The Democratic People's Republic of North Korea is democratic, or a Republic?

I have seen this silliness repeated in this AN forum before, I don't know if it was by the same poster or not.

from the Encyclopedia Britannica:

"Were the Nazis Socialists?

No, not in any meaningful way, and certainly not after 1934. But to address this canard fully, one must begin with the birth of the party."

https://www.britannica.com/story/were-the-nazis-socialists

But I am sure those that like to make this claim are unburdened by any curiosity about the truth.

Sorry, but it was Socialism It was however an authoritarian state in that it demanded absolute obedience and subjugation of the individual to the state. The individual existed for the state. Fun fact is that German industry the "means of production" was brought under full Government control. For all those who claim Socialism has never been implemented properly, arguable it was....

Oh, you speak as one having authority.

Anything you assert without support must be true?

It ain't what you don't know, it's what you know that just ain't so.
