Revisiting History: The Unlikely Campaign to Vilify Winston Churchill
You need to check your timeline and facts. If you do so, you might avoid looking like a complete fool in the future. Between June 1940 - when France fell - and June 1941 -when Hitler broke the German/Russia pact - the UK was alone in opposing Germany. No German forces were directed towards Russia, and the US had not yet entered the war. If the UK had succumbed during this period, the world would be a much different place today. The world - or at the very least, Europe - will be forever in the UK's debt for its' fortitude during this period. Churchill had many faults and failures, but his views about Nazi Germany and his role in its' defeat were not among them. -

Any advantages to retirement over marriage visa?
I have had 5 home visits and no 2 have been the same, witnesses only required once. Last time only one guy came with a tripod, just took a couple of photos with him included. Must have been here all of 10 minutes. Your imagination has nothing to do with it, people are free to make whatever decision suits them best. -

What’s the best area in Thailand for expats to settle for long-term living?
newnative, When I was living in Lake Maprachan we never got to Central Bic-C or Jomtien in less than an hour in traffic. One way. Traffic sucks all the time! HiWay was slower than surface "Porn Rd".... Otherwise you know well Pattaya. You also have better nerves than me. -

Funny that you didn't question the credibility of NY AG Leticia James when she actually ran on a platform of "Get Trump". Levrentiy Beria would be proud of both of you. -

Foreign pickup driver flees after crashing into Thai woman in Phuket
Heard multiple stories like this from various places and it's exactly why I don't drive in third world countries. Everything is fine until it isn't. -

Mixed kid living in Thailand.
International Schools here are the worst mockery of education. Yesterday visited Berkeley at Bang-Na to meet old friend: "wannabee asylum on steroids" I'm not sure what '=Berkley is like... But if you've never had a child at one of the international schools in Thailand, then you are not qualified to comment. My Son's International school is simply fantastic. That is surely an individual situation - there is no consistency that suggests in 'single parent situations the father is always better' - thats just rubbish, the mother may be the better parent, or neither. You will need healthcare one day - and if its something serious that can get very expensive (my bills have exceeded US$20,000 in the past 12 months alone) For the free healthcare option - Citizenship makes sense for anyone living here who is working here (for longer than 3 years) - it takes effort of course. And you get a yearly visa - with the life time Thai Elite, I get a life time of Visas, a lifetime of Airport transport and fast track, a life time of free Golf, Massages, yearly hospital checkups... 15 years in, Membership has already paid for itself and then there is the option to sell it on.... (and memberships are now worth more than they use to). -

Just moved from Chiang Mai to Suk, Soi 11. Can't fault it; it's like living in a very chill version of Times Square. Tremendous restaurant selection. AnotherFarang said that Bangkok IS Thailand. I agree. -
