Buying pound sterling in Pattaya.
How can you possibly know what is the most traded currency in Pattaya, do you have proof of that? And since uk tourists represent only a small percentage of total tourism, I find that hard to even imagine as true. -

Thailand Targets Tougher Alcohol Laws to Align with Global Norms
In the bible belt , right. And who lives there voluntarily? Right again. It seems there are also very strict laws down there where wasp sheriffs rule that gets people arrested for carrying a bottle of beer from 1 province into another. Imagine how the local squirrels would love that, a goldmine. -

Do Thais really attack foreigners for no reason?
The kind of attacks that you see described from time to time on this forum are extremely rare and in the couple decades that I've lived here I've never experienced one firsthand, nor do I know anybody who's ever been involved in one. I think generally speaking a foreigner has to behave pretty badly to be attacked here, or has to engage the wrong crowd of people, and the reality is that Thais are all about respect, so if you're treating them with respect and kindness It's very uncommon to be the subject of an attack. However, nitwits, dickheads and drunks are definitely going to be attacked more often. -
