16 August, early evening, a multi vehicle collision occurred on the Thung Song-Kapang Road near the Huai Khan U-turn in Thung Song District, Nakhon Si Thammarat. Seven people were reported injured at the scene.

 

The accident occurred when a truck while attempting to make a u-turn, had to stop and blocked the road causing traffic to stop. Two cars stopped to wait for the truck to make the turn, and a third was slowing, when an.large trailer truck, not seeing the stopped and slowing cars, crashed into the them.

 

As the trailer truck pushed the cars along the road,, a car travelling on the other carriageway, was distracted by the accident and skidded into a number of motorcycles waiting at the U-turn.

 

Local rescue volunteers from the Tai Tek Tung Thung Song Foundation responded, providing first aid and transporting the injured to Thung Song Hospital for further treatment. 
 

The incident is under investigation by the police.
