Do You Believe: Next year, and the next, will be HOTTER than 2024?
MAGA is completely unimportant. What most people, seemingly, do not realize is that, indeed, as I stated... a. The years following 2024 will continue to get hotter. b. AND, the continuous temperature rise will continue to SPEED UP... Repeat...Speed Up! c. We will hit 2 degrees C above baseline within 20 years. d. We will probably hit 3 degrees C above baseline very soon afterwards...which will be...total disaster for everyone here. So, a very nice presentation, for the LAY Audience, can be watched on this TED Talk....if anyone cares...which I doubt.... Still, as it stands today, most people seem to care more about....NON-ISSUES.....and will...until... They wake up...finally....TOO LATE. -

You're clearly not familiar with American history. Why is Minnesota full of people of Scandinavian Ancestry? Central Texas with Germans? Boston with Irish? New York with Jews? Southern Florida with Cubans? It's always been the case that immigrants tend to stick together. They hear of work or opportunity through their communities and move where that work and opportunities are. It's the American Way. -

You come through the normal channels arriving. Things are going to change apparently around December when foreigners will have to apply online for an ETA before leaving your home, ( rather like you get for the US and since today for the UK too ) . I suppose a whole set of rules will be in the making . I doubt that foreigners will be walking through a unmanned machine. -

Splitting my time between Thailand & my originating country....
This is what I started doing last year. The visa thing was a bigger hassle than I expected so I was seriously thinking of going somewhere else this year. The new 5 year DTV that lets me stay for 180 days without having to worry about travel dates and questions from immigration officers and deal with more paperwork and bureaucracy basically solves that problem. -

I will be seeing my brother in law next month (after many years) who understands computers (builds his own) and will get him to explain (simply) what I need and what I should do. Non - O based on having a Thai Child
It depends. In terms of applying for a Non Imm O visa from a Thai Embassy, based on a Thai child, then the child's birth certificate with you named as the Father on the certificate is sufficient for them to issue the visa. Applying for the 1-year extension of stay at Immigration based on Thai child is a different kettle of fish. If you were married to the Mother when the child was born, then you're automatically recognised as the legal Father under Thai law, and one would assume when you divorced/widowed you were granted full parental rights, as the child lives with and is supported by you. On the other hand, if you were not legally married to the child's Mother at the time of birth, then Thai law does not automatically recognise you as the legitimate Father. In this situation, you need to legitimize the child, with which you acknowledge before the law that you are the father of the child, in order to be granted full parental rights.
