Given they can take half our assets after one year of living with us, yes.

There are women óf colour' who can do the same thing.

USA has 7/10 of largest business in the world yet USA has high debt, high crime and lots of social issues. Amazing really. The system is not working.

This stems from too many people being obsessed with money and power, combined with a total lack of empathy.

If you introduced a more caring, gun free, secular and socialist society, life would be so much better.

Now there's something to get your teeth into.

If one checks Thai family law, IMO it is far more sensible on how assets are divided.

1. Community Property (Sin Somros)

• Definition: This includes assets acquired by either spouse during the marriage, except for certain exceptions like gifts or inheritances given explicitly to one spouse.

• Examples: Salary earned during the marriage, property bought during the marriage, and any income generated from separate property.

So say one spouse worked and the other didn't.....the working spouse would have to give the non-working one half the salary they earned during the marriage?......I take it the intention is to share half of whatever was saved and/or invested as opposed to what was actually earned?????

Another article about American and American Politics and Guns,,,blah, blah, blah....

Hint:

OK, Americans care about football, kids, football, sex, football, cold beer, football, barbeque, gambling and football.

We have our guns fully loaded and  ready just in case our Government gets out of control.

Also, our military is stacked with kids whose parents are gun owners and they will never, ever turn their guns on their parents.

Look up Fragging in Nam to understand why you should never push us to hard.

Finally, we all know that both parties are controlled by very powerful people...and when we are ready, we will manage that issue.

I think we should abolish all political parties and only vote for individuals. IMO party politics is the problem.

I agree that Palestinians should be able to vote in israeli elections.

It would be nice if you had answered the questions that I asked.

You are definitely on to something. Americans vote for leaders who have an existential effect on citizens of other countries; Russians likewise. Palestinians vote for leaders whose sole agenda is the destruction of one particular foreign country, which has no say in it; Israelis vote for leaders who likewise seek to unilaterally annex the land of their neighbor -- whose own residents can’t vote in Israeli elections. Cross-national voting might make us all a little more aware of our common existence and equality, speaking of humans generally.

I sense that you were being a bit sarcastic; I’m not.

I am not sure if I was being sarcastic or not.

My answer came from responding to another poster.

I thought that you were referring to Aussie women when you said that they can take half after one year.

The people who run for office these days are on the radical side of the left or right.   We would be better served by randomly selecting people from the phone book.

The result of gerrymandering, which is radicalizing politics to the point that it does not represent the bulk of the American people, but only the extremists on both the left and the right.

I’m not sure I’d want a US president to be weighing their own child’s welfare as a factor in whether and how to engage.

Why not? If the president can send thousands of other people's children to die, why should they be exempt? If the cause isn't worth the loss of their child it isn't worth the loss of other people's children.

In any event one person should never be able to declare war, or dictate how it is prosecuted.

Unfortunately, has been progressively getting worse since America's birth.

("Progressively" lol.... see what I did there? Progressively... pun intended.)

Not surprisingly, there was an uptick for Trump. But then dropped again two ticks for Biden. If KH gets installed, the inaugural address will nosedive to kindergarten level, perhaps even to special needs level.

https://www.independentsentinel.com/american-voters-are-getting-dumb-breathtakingly-fast

“Americans are getting dumb breathtakingly fast,” says Peter St. Onge. In 1900, Inaugurals were written at a college level, but today, they are written at 8th grade level for Barack Obama, 9th grade for Donald Trump, and 7th grade for Joe Biden.

In 1828, Andrew Jackson’s Inaugural was written on a 22nd-grade level, in other words, a two PhD level.

George Washington’s Inaugural was in 26th grade, so you’d need that third PhD.

It's surprising how many posters make silly comments about how the US doesn't need a right to bear arms  any more, when the need is even greater now, to keep the US government in check.

Seems some posters think the only need for an armed militia is if the British invade.
