British man escapes serious injury in Patong Hill motorbike fire

A British man narrowly avoided serious injury when his motorbike skidded and caught fire on Patong Hill yesterday. The incident occurred as the 62 year old rider was navigating the downhill slope past the Tiger Temple Shrine on his way to Patong Beach.

A foreign language teacher, Robert Leroy K, an American national aged 41, has been arrested in Bangkok for allegedly taking a 14-year-old student to his condominium and abusing her. The arrest followed a report from the girl’s distressed mother, who claimed her daughter was supposed to be studying.

The Criminal Court of Thailand sentenced defendants in the pyramid scheme case, กองทุนพัฒนาเกษตรกรไทยสู่สากล (Thai Farmers Development Fund to Global) to 352 years in prison and fined them 35.2 million baht. The Department of Special Investigation (DSI) received a tip-off from the non-profit organisation Operation Underground Railroad (OUR), which supports law enforcement in rescuing children from human trafficking and exploitation. The information revealed the presence of an X (Twitter) account suspected of involving minors in sexual exploitation.
