Because he was lied to, misled and forced into this war. He extended his hand of friendship in the 90s, helped US space exploration, implemented western economic reforms and kept his word on Germany. In return he just received empty promises and lies, that NATO would not expand eastwards. Russia for decades made clear that Ukraine joining NATO was a red line and in Bucharest in 2008 this was announced to be the plan by NATO. Many western cold war warriors and Russia experts warned against what NATO was planning. Their calls were ignored and now we have outright propaganda pretending Putin wants to reconstitute imperial Russia and all these lies. I just don't like it. The truth about what is happening should be told, don't you think?

Wipe out Ukrainian culture

Wipe out Ukrainian language

Wipe out Ukrainian church

Wipe out the idea that Ukraine is a sovereign nation separate from Russia

Steal Ukrainian children and brainwash them to fight against their own country

 

Putin is willing to level entire cities to the ground of areas that resists. He has already done that to a number of places.

Putin regularly and intentionally targets civilians including schools, hospitals, and residences.

Putin would have been fine with a puppet nation as in the past but that option has passed. If he is to win, he needs a slave state where all anti Russian Ukrainians will be made to flee or they will be killed.

 

Most Russians do not see Ukraine as a separate country from Russia based on the history they were taught.  A reason most Russians still support this war. 

 

Ukraine has been independent now for quite some time and most Ukrainians want to be divorced from Russia.

Ukrainians want to be a western democracy no longer under the thumb of  Moscow. That should be their choice to do so, not Putins.

 

Yes there are many Ukrainians particularly in the east that are more loyal to Russia. It's not only a matter of language of course. Nobody said this was not going to be messy.

 

As far as endings favorable to Ukraine, sure it might involve ceeding some land in the east, but any kind of "deal" where Ukraine isn't going to be NATO/EU will just be a pause for Russia to regroup their military power for the next assault. 

The war mongerers here are Putin and all the Putin toadies telling lies for him. This is a war of choice by Putin. He could instantly decide to end it if he wanted to.

I use a lot of sources including Putin and directly watching Russian state media. You're the idiot if you think my only sources are MSM. 

We can agree to disagree without further insults, but I am somewhat comforted that the vast majority of Americans still support Ukraine over Russia and if Harris is elected she might possibly learn to trust the Ukrainians more to do what is needed to be done to actually beat Russia.
