yeah but now they can't really implement it until 2026 at the earliest since this year has already begun without that scheme in place.

Members should already be formulating a Plan B, a Plan C and a Plan D.

Members will need to be proactive.  No one wants to be the one they make an example of.

Which as usual has F**k all to do with the link I provided.

But why am I surprised as that is all you seem to want to do recently is stir the pot seemingly for your own amusement.

I scroll the forum through the new content page, and with just reading your comment, I already knew who you were replying to.

Why this <deleted> doesn't get banned?

That's because your link was worth <deleted> all.  Nothing new in it.

If that is so then matches most of your posts. Perhaps I feel I have a long way to go to catch up.......

Probably because, unlike you, I post content.

There are 2 man forums in which you post, and obviously you have a wealth of no idea, or you are just trolling

So am I.

Actually, do everyone a favor and put me on ignore. That way, you do not disrupt the threads I post on for others with your trolling.

Some examples?

khunHeineken - another one to ignore for sure.  Poeple just do not undertand that this is an opinion form where each of us can expressour thoughts on any subject, i.e. the world wide banking or local taxes or whatever when for sure, Pichai and Co. just seem to be holding back.  GUess some powerful people in the parliament don'l like that idea.  Maybe it will go along with the  negative tax rate where those paying more will donate to the poorer ones.   still express my opinion on this subject although I won'tbe affected due to my income and the LTR visa.  Anyway hope allhave a great weekend and enjoy the "cool" weather.

I'd put Stat on ignore, but honestly, nothing's funnier than a German taxman giving his tought nuggets in Thailand.

Please do.  It allows others to continue the discussion without your trolling.

I expressed my thoughts, and your reply was to put me on your ignore list.  Why read other's thoughts, just to put them on ignore because they differ from yours?

A bit harsh.

There's been many threads and thousands of posts about this matter, and we are all still none the wiser, but we will be soon.

Do you know with any certainty what is going to happen?  No, I didn't think so.

Putting someone on ignore says more about you than it does about them.

I may be wrong but I think he was actually suggesting you put the poster you were bickering with on ignore - not that he was saying he would to you..........

Am i right or wrong @Presnock

Hardly obvious, but I paid you the courtesy of replying anyway.

I can only suggest you read through the relevant posts again.

I can explain it to you but etc etc etc

NB - I even said I may be wrong which is why I asked the other poster to qualify

yeah, but I don't worry about that as I just consider it as anything else on this forum, BTW as I mentioned I do worry about the current tax situation here but if they change the tax laws IAW the commen by Deputy Finance Minister Julapun Amornvivat on 10 January, that they are studying "negative income tax which REQUIRES EVERYONE in the country , regardless of income level, to file personal income tax."  Then, even with exemptions, each of us might have to get a Tax ID number and the tax forms here.  Then I will follow those new rules....

Thailand has a huge cash / black economy, and not just in the sex trade.

However, as an example, it's funny how a young Thai lady from Issan can end up with a house, car, money in the bank, gold, maybe a bar or a shop, and has never paid any tax.

Is it so surprising the Thai government either wants to tax her, tax the foreigner who is sending her the money, or tax them both?

This was first published by the same newspaper early June. As I don't know how resilient RD 743 will be to this change, when this comes into effect, I have been cutting expenditure at the level of  my tax exposure of 22%. Been looking also at the possibility of staying out of country 186 days a year.

Right know we should all advertise that we have the means to make such a change ineffective as we either won't spend our money in this excrement hole and/or spend their expected tax revenue elsewhere by becoming pleasantly nomadic. I can see myself 3 months in Malaysia and another in Vietnam.

If Thailand is an excrement hole you dont have to live here. I dont think they sent you an invitation to come live here anyway did they?

This won't stop tomorrow, and the few worried foreigners running to pay tax will hardly compensate the tax loss.

I never suggested it will stop tomorrow.  What I alluded to is the Thai government now wants a cut of the pie.

They have seen ZERO from this transfer of wealth in decades.  Now they can basically tax the bar girls, indirectly, by taxing the funds flowing to them.

I can't speak for the member Ben Zioner, but I would not be surprised if the expats who stand to lose a considerable of money in tax, thus, forced out for 6 months of the year, start to adopt a similar negative attitude to Thailand as Ben Zioner.

Can you blame them?

For some of us with both the money and no-family, it is easy to leave Thailand for 6.5 to 7 months of the year, and only live in Thailand for 5 to 5.5 months.

However there are some with families, and the approach the single expat (or expat with wife and no kids) can adopt is easy.  For those with a family much more difficult, and harder to pick up roots and leave.

Nope.

Which is why I’m currently in Vietnam and am meeting with a Real Estate agent when I return to Bangkok to discuss the sale of my condo and repatriating all my assets back to the US.
