Loneliness: Why have I never been lonely in Asia? (But lonely every moment in the USA...)

Featured Replies

My Dear Friends,

Are you like me?

One who was lonely, every day of my life, in America, but never, EVER, lonely in Asia.

Why is this, do you imagine?

My personal opinion is that this LONELINESS stems from excessive Other-Directedness in western societies such as America.

Do you also think so?....

HERE is what I am talking about, just a blurb about a book I read in High School:

Yes...FOLKS.....

I first read THIS book....in High School....which....in intervening years...has come to be seen as somewhat of PIVOTAL book....

I know that you know I am talking about the One and Only great book:

Look It....

You guys probably know, by now, that I am one of the very Few Great Thinkers on this TV Farang Pub....

Just admit it.....

And so, I am just suggesting that we are fortunate to be here, in Asia, where guys like you are less lonely they we might otherwise have been....IF...

We had remained in America, rather than traveling here to Asia....many, MANY, years ago.

I first came here in 1970.

And, I knew that Asia was for me.

I was here in Thailand, in 1971, for example...

Eating buffalo steaks.

And smoking up a storm, for about two days.

And going to BKK, to watch the fights.

Super cool women sitting in the front row, on the arms of American Service Men, back in the day....as I do recall.

So, anyway....

America was, at that time, already, an exceedingly LONELY place.

And, since those days, America has become even MORE lonely, if you can even imagine the possibility.

I would say that THIS is the MAIN reason that I will NEVER return to America or Canada....because.....

North America is just to FING lonely for my taste....

What about you?

Do you KNOW that what I say is absolutely true?

Or, do you have a different opinion?

Maybe you are lonely here?

Here, in a place where I have NEVER experienced even one-half of a lonely day during my entire time in Asia.

What say you?

Maybe JingThing has a different perspective than I?

Who knows.....

Just curious.

Best regards,

Gamma

NOTE4:  So happy that I put my lonely days behind me, while I was still young enough to do so......

I bet that many here know what I am talking about......even though YOU might not....if you came here.....

TOO LATE.....

NOTE4.1:  Sorry.  This should have been my Sunday Topic.  But, I just could not wait until Sunday...to post it.  Please forgive.....

Why do I keep making these typos?

I do not know why.

I can only say sorry.

If I had the time to proofread and edit what I had written, then I would have, but I did not have the time.

I doubt I will ever have the time.

Just a plain fact of life.

Mostly, though, it's just pure laziness.

If nobody is paying you to do a proper job of editing what you have written, then there is far less motivation and impetus to so do.  At least, this has been true in my case....

Where have you been all this evening???

Still on Ellesmere Island, gambling with the local fauna there, as usual?

Otherwise, you would have returned here, long before now....

Just HOW much dumber do you suppose Hollywood Films will become, now that there has been over two decades of DUMBING DOWN...in order to meet the demanding standards of the average movie goer?

We will   never   again....

See the likes of the few great films which were lovingly made in the past...

Nearly every friend I have in the US is single. Why? Because for a man in the US, who is past the age of 50, unless he is willing to get with a woman at least his age, his prospects are dim for finding love, or companionship. Some guys like me, simply prefer younger women. Not kids, but women who are 5, 10, 15, even 20 or 25 years younger than us. For a dozen very valid reasons. I could break them down, but why bother? The PC crew will jump on this and say it is not right. You should not be able to have this kind of life, without jumping over ridiculous hurdles! Means nothing to me. I do not do PC. Why be with a woman our age, if we do not need to? Nothing wrong with it, if it works for you. But It is virtually impossible for a 60 year old man in the US, to hook up with a 36 year old woman, unless she is very fat or very ugly, or he is a centimillionaire, or is famous. Period. It just does not happen in this day and age.

Here it is possible. Granted he will likely get with a woman of lesser means, who needs a guy who can provide some financial stability. So what? Who cares? Most women want financial stability anywhere in the world, whether they admit it or not. The difference is here the women are more honest about their financial needs and desires. I know a lot of men who have engaged in relationships with lovely, kind, supportive, humorous, and sexy women here, who are no longer lonely. We have very good lives. Fulfilling lives. Lives we could never dream of having back in the US, Oz, NZ, UK, Canada, or Scandinavia, where many of the women are so devoid of femininity and the very qualities that make them appealing to us. Not here. Thai women are very comfortable in their own skin and with their roles as woman. It gives them alot of power. And they are too savvy to walk away from that, as many Western women have.

In the USA, I live in my house and in my cars.  That's the way suburbia works.  In Thailand, I live out in the community.   Even if I don't speak the language, I wave and say hello to 10x as many people each day in Bangkok as in the USA.

Which is one reason that my real estate needs wants in Thailand are so much cheaper than in the USA.  One more reason to retire in LOS.

I wasn't lonely in the US, nor in the UK, nor in France our Switzerland, nor in Japan, and not now in Thailand.

I believe it is all about you. Where ever you are. 1st world, look, manners, education, work location(how many contacts everyday), family. 3rd world thicker wallet is the greatest factor.
