Thai gov. to tax (remitted) income from abroad for tax residents starting 2024 - Part II
I suspect there is a growing concern among many, that those who Thai immigration are able to determine spent >180 days in Thailand in a given calendar year, could be flagged as possible tax residents and that information could be passed to the Thai RD. Clearly that is speculation, but it is not unheard of for immigration to have communication with the Thai RD. If there is such a communication, then the "Tax residents the RD are aware of" could be more than just those who hold a Thai TIN. I believe this is an aspect many of us will be observing to see how it all plays out in the coming few years. -

Yep, every sex worker who was employed at one of those parties is now going to come forward with claims of being drugged, coerced etc. Having said that, Diddy is fully deserving of everything that's coming to him. I'm only surprised he got away with it for so long. I'm guessing that's because of the other high profile people that attended the parties. I wonder if these people will ever get charged or if it will all be brushed under the carpet like it did with the visitors to Epstein island? Let's hope Diddy's cell has functioning CCTV and he doesn't have a 7 foot tall Russian assassin as a cell mate. -

White Culture
Sounds very interesting, The most comprehensive attempt i have seen to rank cultures is Charles Murray's "Human Accomplishment". I don't agree with it, but like many things by Charles Murray worth a read. But in any event, looking at Black Hawk Down, where the US had a technological gap and still got beat by its Somali opponent, it does make you think, what if this culture did not have this technological gap and faced cultures like the Somalis. Could Americans prevail? Without the technological gap I mean. -

What Movies or TV shows are you watching (2024)
Thanks...very good. Sometimes when searching for a Torrent on the many sites, it will throw up any torrent that contains the search words. An example being, that I just searched for "Taking Chance" & all kinds of stuff comes up. Is there anyway to make a site search only for what I want, as often there are movies about eating cream pies. No idea what they are, though. Jokes aside, it's serious question. -

That not quite the true measure... as motorcyclists contribute mostly to the road deaths here. For example - per 4 wheeled vehicle the stats show that there area more road deaths (in 4 wheeled vehicles) in the USA than Thailand per 100,000 of population. While licensing is a facet - the primary issue here is the cultural approach to safety, corners cut, a lack of awareness and / or respect for safety. Public vehicles (Busses) allowed to operate with LPG - this was a vehicle that has repeatedly been rebuilt on a 50 year old chassis. The issue in this case is not 'just' the driving standards - its systemic flaws across the board from training, to licensing, certification, standards and on and on... Its tragic - but look at how many kids die in ponds in rural areas while the grandparents are not watching - the issue of safety here involves the nation and improvement requires a cultural shift - this must obviously be lead by authorities and enforced by effective policing... but that takes a lot of effort and Thailand doesn't really like 'effort' when the results are no immediate, across the board society in general here is reactive not proactive. -
