BANGKOK, Oct 10 (TNA) – Muay Thai, the national sport of Thailand, has seen a surge in global recognition.

The combat sport is now professionally regulated by the World Boxing Council (WBC) Muaythai and the International Federation of Muaythai Amateur. This increased recognition led the United Nations to acknowledge Muay Thai as a sport for all, signing agreements with both governing bodies.

More like an easy way to get a visa.

Yes, talk about driving the economy, I went to try to get tickets for a live match, but I swear, the tickets cost more than a Taylor Swift concert. They must be making more money than Croesus.

I will guarantee you this is "driving the economy" a lot lot less than the multi-billion baht recreational dope sector. Mind you the black market in steroids is probably benefiting.

"Drives Economy"

How sad. Goodbye to an economy sustained by tourism, manufacturing, export of goods and services, domestic consumption. Hello to Muay Thai to drive Thailand's economy.

Its a boring sport to watch. I could never get into it when i lived there

Not as boring as taekwondo though. Hop, hop, hop ,hop, hop, kick, kick, shout, shout ,shout , hop, hop, hop, hop, shout, shout, kick etc.

Delusional to think a niche sport can drive a economy, clueless reporting

+1

I went to Rachadamnueng (????) stadium - they don't shy triple price system. Walk-in farang will pay helluva more than khun Moo.

Say was at Lumpini until they shut it.
