A fire erupted at a condominium building near Lat Phrao Road, across from Soi Lat Phrao 48, on the evening of October 11. At approximately 17:20 emergency services received a call reporting the blaze, prompting a swift response from the Huai Khwang Fire Station.

Firefighters supported by rescue personnel from the Ruamkatanyu Foundation rushed to the scene, where thick black smoke was seen billowing from the ninth floor of the 15-story building. By 17:30 emergency responders were set up and actively working to extinguish the flames, trying to prevent the fire from spreading, while ensuring the evacuation of all residents from the affected unit and floors.

After an hour it was confirmed that the fire had been extinguished, and contained within the initial unit. Firefighting was from hose-lines off the buildings internal fire mains, with responders needing breathing apparatus to enter the burning unit. There was some smoke damage effecting the communal access corridor on the 9th floor, but no damage was reported to any other unit. Responders used positive pressure fan to clear the smoke from the building.

Investigation is ongoing to determine the cause of the fire and assess the cost of the damage. The unit involved in the fire and everything in it, was totally destroyed with fire, heat and smoke damage throughout.

No injuries have been reported, but the incident has raised concerns about safety protocols in high-rise buildings.
