EMS postage

Featured Replies

What are your experiences of using Thai Post Office EMS courier service?

I posted some important documents at the Hua Hin Beach Post Office to UK on 3rd October at a cost B1,190.00. I was told 3-5 days for delivery.

The EMS Tracker on 4th showed "Departure from outward office of exchange'.  Since then, the documents haven't arrived and nothing more on the tracker.

When I called the call centre today, 12 days after posting, I was told if the document doesn't arrive within 6 months then claim in their prescribed format.

Has anybody had this experience with EMS?

EMS from other countries always worked well for me!

Never tried it in Thailand, and guess I never will, after reading your post!

I had the same thing happen last year.  I did get my insurance money back, but not the cost of the EMS. Now after another lost package, I am looking for an alternative to the Thai post system.

Never had a problem Always found them very efficient,  Been a few years though

Last year I sent my UK birth certificate from Thailand EMS to Milton Keynes to be legalised. I posted it on 21 June and it was delivered in MK on the 28th June. Cost 1000 baht and fully trackable.

No problem, worked as intended.

The only annoying part was that I needed my passport. But I remembered that part when I did it again.

Have you tried a postal tracker of the destination country?

Sometimes you might be surprised where your mail is stuck.

I sent stuff to the US x 2 and it went through a few different countries before arriving 5 weeks later(used to be inside 6 days prior to covid), the box was fairly trashed and there was broken pieces, ems did nothing and wouldnt answer emails etc. It has really done doen hill and looks like it was taken over and they are trying to make bigger profits by cutting quality service and using cheaper carriers. If I have to send overseas now I use dragon couriers, they are brilliant but a bit more costly.
