Nothing about a 'retirement visa' there, because they don't exist -

Op out of contact payment for debit/credit cards (no pin req'd)
What you can do depends on your bank(s) at least to some extent, but I don't think there's an option to opt out of contactless payments specifically with any Thai bank. With Kasikorn Bank, for example, you can adjust the limits within the app and also have the option to disable a card temporarily. -

UNIFIL’s Misguided Role in Southern Lebanon: A Threat to Israel's Security
Complete failure with a massive ongoing budget................ In the 18 years since the adoption of U.N. Security Council Resolution 1701, UNIFIL has been an abject failure, allowing Hezbollah to rearm and entrench itself in southern Lebanon, setting the stage for the current conflict in the process. Moreover, it has done so with international support and American largesse. Last year, the U.S. appropriated $143 million to UNIFIL for 2023, amounting to about one-quarter of the force’s total budget of $507 million. https://thehill.com/opinion/international/4937125-unifil-failure-lebanon-hezbollah/ -

A vote for Trump is a vote for Putin / Orban / Kim Jong Un
You post links because you are not able to make a coherent argument. Your claim is that Jan 6 was an "armed insurrection", yet no one in the Capital building was caught with a firearm, and no on in the Capital building was charge with, much less convicted of insurrection. You have not supported that claim. You are just parroting MSNBC talking points. Hamas loves you. nah nah nah -

EV Charging Stations (CS)
What’s other BYD owners take on this? Are you following the above “recommendation”? I’m usually charging from 20% or less every couple days but not always to 100%. Is the battery affected detrimentally if we don’t follow the above strictly? -

SLOVAKIA - Bans ‘Dangerous’ Covid ‘Vaccines and declares Pandemic a ‘Fabricated Operation'
Prime Minister Robert Fico backed plans to investigate Slovakia’s pandemic management. A prominent anti-vaxxer was given the key role. Slovakia's Health Minister Zuzana Dolinková announced Friday she is stepping down over government backing for a prominent anti-vaxxer and insufficient prioritization of health care. "I am sorry that at the level of the government coalition there is support for the ideas of the government proxy, which, in my opinion, find no scientific support," Dolinková said at a press conference, adding she will officially submit her resignation in the coming days. Peter Kotlár, the government envoy tasked with investigating Slovakia's pandemic management and one of the country's most prominent anti-vaxxers, presented his report — which is largely based on fringe theories — on Thursday. https://www.politico.eu/article/slovakia-health-minister-zuzana-dolinkova-quits-government-support-anti-vaccine-covid/ It's utterly shocking that an anti-vaxxer put in charge of such an investigation would come up with such results. What are the odds? -

Expats in Thailand urged not to worry about negative income tax
Plain dumb comment. My exposure to IT in Thailand is about 800K to 900k a year. If negative income tax requires a 10% hike in revenue collection I might have to pay an extra 90k, a paltry amount indeed.. And I am probably on a relative modest income compared to others. Nobody ever said that NIT would affect only expats. But Dumb and Dumber was a fun movie to watch. -
