This is an interesting point you make. Why would Zelnzky be requesting this so close to Trump coming in? Is there are tactical reason? Why only Kursk? Possibly it's to help pull the troops out of there before the onset of winter and the possibility of their supply lines being cut off? Who knows but lobbing some ATACMS and Storm Shadows into the area sure ain't going lead to any victory. -

Selling gold - taxes
URGENT UPDATE Rest Easy - seems there is ZERO Tax Risk. In a Webinar this afternoon, a very active Tax Advisor very clearly stated that, for individuals (Not Traders/Business operators), any Capital Gains on gold bullion sales are NOT assessible for Income Tax. Additionally, in the case of inheritance, the Estate would have no tax liability and that recipients would only be subject to Tax if the Tax-Free inheritance threshold was exceeded eg. 100 million baht per recipient. Very happy now about where this matter has finished - just disappointed about the confusion in reaching this conclusion. -

The currency exchange is irrelevant, if you have no intention on exchanging it. Meanwhile, you are only getting 1.8% interest on your 800k baht. All so you can only pay 1900 baht for your extension, and don't have to pay an agent. 41,200 - 15,000 (average price for agent) = 26,200. (note - this is an average price for an agent) 26,200 - 1900 (the cost you pay) = 24,300. Basically, I am 24,300 baht better off, and don't have to deal with immigration and queues. Some might suggest your extension actually costs you 26,200 + 1900 = 28,100, not because it actually does, but because the losses your 800k baht incurs in Thailand in order to be able to pay 1900 for your extension. As another member stated, "there are some really strange people out there." -

As usual, pretending the obvious answer is "a conspiracy theory" - implying immigration don't take payoffs via agents (why do such services exist?) - and that payoff money would not motivate their actions. I agree that, as an over-50, he could live easier by just paying 12.5K Baht to an agent (25K if on a tourist-entry) and be done with it, but if he wants to pay "by the entry" for some reason, that is do-able, also. -
