Koh Chang has been ranked the second-best tropical destination in the world by the esteemed travel magazine Travel + Leisure.

Often referred to as the “Jewel of the Gulf of Thailand,” the island was recognized alongside other renowned Southeast Asian destinations such as Palawan in the Philippines and Bali in Indonesia.

According to Mu Koh Chang National Park Chief Neramit Songsagne, the island now stands among the world’s premier vacation spots.

The Maldives claimed the top position in the rankings, with Koh Chang securing second place, followed by the Hawaiian Islands in third.

Koh Chang’s inclusion in this prestigious list reaffirms its growing appeal to international visitors, further cementing Thailand’s reputation as a premier destination for natural beauty and cultural exploration.

Natural beauty, and cultural exploration....hmmmm.....wonder what they are talking about...........

Yeah, I was there a few months ago broke my femur bone had to take a boat ambulance to the mainland. There are no hospitals on the island that could fix it. TIT.

Probably Koh Kood.

Bang Bao, is probably the only relatively original, nice place on the island. I won't talk about the islands further up.

I agree, as I spent a couple of nights on Koh Chang with my Thai family and we all have some great meals

and a good stay on the island.

Surprised to see this award. Its nice for a visit but hardly fantastic or comparable to Maldives.

I think its just another sub standard island.

The east coast is worth exploring, especially the southern part, Salak Pet bay and surrounding area. It has a famous seafood restaurant and panoramic views of the bay from high up. There are many small islands south and east of Koh Chang some of which are well worth visiting. But you'd need to hire a speedboat to get to them, and some have now cashed in on landing fees.
