Yeah, I was there a few months ago broke my femur bone had to take a boat ambulance to the mainland. There are no hospitals on the island that could fix it. TIT.

Bang Bao, is probably the only relatively original, nice place on the island. I won't talk about the islands further up.

I agree, as I spent a couple of nights on Koh Chang with my Thai family and we all have some great meals

and a good stay on the island.

I think its just another sub standard island. 

The east coast is worth exploring, especially the southern part, Salak Pet bay and surrounding area. It has a famous seafood restaurant and panoramic views of the bay from high up. There are many small islands south and east of Koh Chang some of which are well worth visiting. But you'd need to hire a speedboat to get to them, and some have now cashed in on landing fees.
