Bus from Suvarnabhumi Airport to Hua Hin

Recommended Posts

I want to catch the bus from Suvarnabhumi Airport to Hua Hin. I was told to catch it on Level 1, Gate 8 for about 300 Baht. When I get to Hua HIn, how do I get to my rental? I'm staying at the Marvest Condos near Soi 80.

These a mini van waiting at the bus terminal to take you into town.

Was a free service at one time, but I read it's a small fee now.

You can also book online: airpoirthuahinbus.com

Don't forget to take a blanket for in the bus, it is cold inside.

Users of the VIP bus service from Swampy have two inhouse options once they arrive at the Hua Hin VIP bus terminal near the Hua Hin Airport.

1. The bus company does still offer a FREE onward van transport service (the same vans they use for the paid service below),  but it only drops free passengers at the Hua Hin Clocktower meeting point location in the downtown area.  If you tell the bus station staff you want to go to Clocktower, they won't charge you a fee for the van trip.

or 2. If you want one of their vans to take you direct to your hotel or condo in the HH or Cha-Am area, they charge a flat 100 baht fee for the shared van ride. Meaning you're in a shared van with other passengers, and they'll tend to drop off those first whose locations are closest to the bus terminal, and then work outward from there.

One thing to note: their van service is only for arriving passengers from Swampy.  They do NOT offer a return van service that will take you from your hotel or condo TO the VIP bus terminal for your return trip.

By comparison, Grab taxis summoned using the Grab app are readily available in Hua Hin. When I took Grab from near the Market Village Mall to the HH VIP bus station recently during a late morning weekend day, the fare was less than 100 baht.

I use the VIP bus all the time. It's great that their buses have a good functioning and comfortable air con system.

But I've never felt that it was too cold inside or the need to cover myself with anything. Nor have I seen other passengers using blankets typically. YMMV.

When you get out at the clock tower (free trip in the van), marvest is a 500m walk,
Or you can get a motorbike, There are some at the clock tower.
Should only cost 20  baht, or 30 baht at most.

Be aware that you can only book online up to the day before and not on the day of travel.
when you book online you can also choose a seat, after confirmed paying the booking.

It is often cold enough that I want to put on a sweater.  Many others on the bus do the same.  Carrying a sweater for airports, buses, and vans is standard operating procedure for any seasoned traveller.

The mini bus charges B100 and will take you from the bus station to your accommodation.

If I remember correctly, from what I heard on Sunday when I arrived from BKK, the trip to the clock tower is free.

Oh boy you mean my jacket and long sleeve undershirt do not pass, so I am unseasoned.

Last time I took that bus, I used Grab to get to my hotel, which was probably somewhat quicker than using their shared van and quite cheap.

Probably depends on the time of day.  I think it usually costs me around 200b in the morning from the clock tower area to the bus station, which I thought was kind of expensive.  The same trip length in Pattaya would probably only cost me about 75b.  I always take the free van so not sure what it is the other way.

Believe what you're told, the airport bus is a fridge, put some long pants on and a warm jacket or freeze
