The Next President Inherits a Remarkable Economy

That's a pretty incredible headline coming from the Wall Street Journal; a right-wing Rupert Murdoch owned newspaper. The Biden/Harris economy is rocking-and-rolling.

"Whoever wins the White House next week will take office with no shortage of challenges, but at least one huge asset: an economy that is putting its peers to shame...it is outrunning every other major developed economy."

No different to 2016 when Trump inherited Obama's economy.

No different to 2000 when Bush inherited Clinton's economy

The exact opposite of 2008 when Obama inherited a mess from Bush

The exact opposite of 2020 when Biden inherited a mess from Trump

Somehow Trump leads every poll in who is better for the economy...., go figure?

Rupert's Wall Street Journal sticks to the facts because its readers demand reliability—financial markets and investors don’t play well with fiction.

Meanwhile, Rupert's Fox News operates on a different business model: stir up emotions, play to biases, and keep viewers glued, even if that means bending, ignoring facts altogether, or just plain lying.

My heart goes out to the next president, because that's when they're going to have to adjust the job numbers, the crime numbers, the unemployment figures, and all the other statistics they've been lying about to make this administration look competent.

Maybe but today's news is pretty bad already:

US

             12K

US

-28K

First -ve number since 2022.

Don't you get sick of people always talking the US down?....the greatest uncivilized nation on earth and its just negatives all the way.

Because these numbers always go up so if they go down ever it's the president's fault. 2 straight years of up is not long enough apparently.

A lot more people talk it up than down. You should be happy.

Well these numbers are exceptional and pretty grim. There is certainly not 2 straight years of "up". I didn't blame anyone though.

In such an uncivilized country, what else could you expect?

Must be very grim, the dollar is rising hard in response.

True. How else would he pay for his private jet or golf resort if he didnt have a side gig at McUgly?

He and his kids would be working at McDonald's if Donald didn't start out with his Daddy's money. Trump would be richer if he had just put Daddy's money in an Equity REIT instead of wasting money on developing properties. He underperformed the real estate index by almost 50%. Of course you would expect that from a guy who's bankrupted 6 companies. But you Trumpsters are still snowed by the conman.

"Starting with Trump’s professed net worth of “more than $200 million” in an interview published by the New York Times in November 1976, Griffin says the FTSE NAREIT All Equity REITS index compounded return would have returned $23.2 billon at the end of 2015, “considerably above Mr. Trump’s recent self-reported net worth of approximately $10 billion.”

The numbers the dollar is responding to weren't available yesterday.

Well they weren't the payroll numbers but you keep whatever they are secret. That's OK.

Jobs add 200,000. The markets won't like this at all. Gold tanking and the dollar will top 105. Bye bye rate cuts.

Do send the link, especially about 200k jobs. Must be in India.

It was part of a scenario of options depending on the numbers which turned out to be neither hot nor cold. the PMI however was up, indicating more inflation.

The entire world is praying for Trump to get to office, in order to have all the war crimes stop in Gaza and the Middle east and to abolish all the current US sanctions against Russia that are hurting people's wallets all over the world. The rest is just politics and there is no side that is better or worse then the other.

Except Ukraine maybe. And probably every other country on the planet not named Russia.

You can do a lot with Daddy's money.

It can help in the beginning.  He put it to work.

Many have blown their inheritance

I received nothing from my dad but don’t hold resentment for those who did.

I sense some resentment in your statement.
