April International - 30% Premium increase

My premium is due for renewal in just over a months time.  I queried the level of increase and have had back "canned" reasons for general levels of increase and have had to ask twice if it was because of moving into a higher age banding.

 

Just received this reply today - only took 8 days for them to respond.........

Unfortunately Thailand has been one of the most impacted countries by the price increase because of the inflation of the costs and sinistrality of our policyholders.

We can suggest you to increase your deductible in order to lower the costs ; 

>> Your current coverage: 3 480,86 $ / month

>> Your personalized quote: 3 272,56‬ $ / month (1000 deductible) 
>> Your personalized quote: 3 064,25‬ $ / month (2500 deductible) 

 

 I am 65 and increase just seems too high to me as I doubt this will be a one off in the coming years.

did I read that right, 3'480 usd per month??? that would be 41,760 usd per year ...

Not only do premiums go up, but we have it on authority that --

Fortunately not - they have a monthly pay option but I pay annually.

I wondered who else would pick up on that  .

I replied asking them what they actually meant as otherwise I may be an outlier as right handed..............

 

It will probably be another week before they reply if they even bother.

Maybe by saying the "sinistrality of our policyholders" it was a spell-checker gone awry and they actually meant 'sinister intentions of our policy holders' as in another recent topic where the policy document had to be modified due to instances of fraud. Edited 30 minutes ago by jerrymahoney
