I too expect a Harris win - Trump has alienated very large numbers of women, hispanics, immigrants and youngsters and many of his own supporters. The Harris win may be stronger than we expect and then, as John Oliver observes, we will at last be free of this Trump evil . With the Democrats in the White House, hopefully any attempts at insurrection will be swiftly thwarted.

I totally disagree with 'Theblether' - Harris not 'shockingly worthless'. Nevermind - Good luck to the USA today.

I've just noticed a 'Theblether' edit about Ron de Santis - myself I would see him as a disastrous alternative. Regarding, Harris, I was reflecting on how she turned the race around in such a short time since stepping in. The contrast between her energy and Joe's, is stark and vivid.

If Joe Biden had not stepped down, it would have been a runaway Trump win. God bless America !

STF - yes a Trump defeat will enliven the 'goons' but hopefully, they can be dealt with, again. Remember the goons have watched many from 2020 get incarcerated for their trouble and the Dems are in residence atm.

Two things can be true. I did pick her out in 2018 ( on the strength of her Senate performances ) and I do think she has turned out to be shockingly worthless.

And Trump will lose to her - which says a lot about him.

A strong argument can be made that his actions around J6 alone will lose him this election.

I thought it was horrendous at the time and nothing has excused him since.

I'm going for Harris.

She is a shockingly worthless candidate but I did pick her out for President in 2018 and I'll stick with her for one reason.

She's not Trump. I said here month's ago that Trump Hatred would see him beaten.

If Amy Klobuchar, my other 2018 pick, was the candidate this race would be in the bag for the Dems. Equally; someone like Ron DeSantis would have crushed Kamala.

But it's Harris v Trump, and Harris will win.

.

I'm pretty shocked but I agree with much of that.

Of course I don't think she is worthless  but Amy Klobuchar has been my favorite from a long way back.

Harris has run a great campaign better than Klobuchar would have but I agree DeSantis would have beat Harris.

Now if Harris wins I would look at her staff and cabinet. She has limits and flaws but with the right support she can do well. On the other hand the Republicans will probably take the Senate so her hands will be tied.

Harris winning doesn't fix the division.

If Harris wins, she will have won for the same reason as Biden - Anyone But Trump.

I'll look on the bright side of a harris win.

I'll be needing some day labor in Calif for some projects so I should be in good shape.

I don't have kids in public school in the US so hey, have at it with the pronouns while the kids are kept stupid because of the non English speaking students taking up the teacher's time.

You know one of the worst personal traits is laziness which Harris has an abundance of.

And Trump isn't lazy?

Harris is going to win 90% of the Black vote, and 65% of the Latino vote. 55% of the female vote.

The question is how many white males are going to show up on Election Day.

Trump will win the EC by about 290 to 248. Popular vote will be a squaker, but perhaps Harris by a point.

One tell is that in Washington DC, the shop owners are starting to board up their businesses. I wonder why.... DC votes over 90% Democrat, so what are they afraid of?

Because DC shopowners are the experts on national elections.

Perhaps not, but they ARE experts on their customer base and how they will react to certain situations.

Did you know that every presidential candidate who survived an assassination attempt went on to lose the election?

Or they are worried about the celebration after Harris wins.

Just as an aside, I subscribe to the UK Daily Telegraph. Over recent months I have been shocked to see their coverage of the US election - of course, it's a conservative newspaper but you'd think, until today, that Harris didn't exist. I notice Sky News has been in a similar vein but today, just a little more coverage of Harris. When she's elected (?), they'll just have to face up to it!

I still see and read comment that seems to ignore  and bypass all the downsides of the revolting Trump - quite how any person or media outlet might take him seriously, in any way, defies imagination.

Let's hope, this time tomorrow, we can say 'good riddance' to Trump !
