Just looking at those numbers simply tells me is what a mess this place is as it's full of criminals, cheats & thief's.

It's your damn job to apprehend criminals so why boast about the numbers.

Does that 39,850 include the two Lady boys who robbed the Chinese of his gold necklace :vampire:

How do they suddenly manage such an arrest rate, in 1 month, but fail for years to achieve similar results.... do I actually believe this story... hell no.

They should not be short of money now, with all the confiscated hall

Sure they decide they must arrest someone

to be seen doing something 90% of the time.

But is that reflected as % of convictions of the actual guilty party? 55 555

They set out to make arrests, so they do.
Then, throw out an impressive number, and neglect actual facts. It still sounds “big”.

Love it.  59 arrest warrants and 59 million meth tablets.  The police should use better AI to write their creative writing projects.

Gotta wonder how many bets were placed for 59 when this announcement was made.

You have to interpret it. It means they arrested somebody for these crimes, not necessarily the person who committed them.

Now work on getting a 96% successful rate on public road safety, which would do more for the citizens than worrying about scams, money laundering, etc. Or keep dumping "531,058 million baht" down the drain every year, and killing off or maiming the most likely child bearing adults (under 29yrs old), especially when you have an ageing society. Imagine that, you could solve multiple problems and create a safer place for citizens and tourist alike.

THE WHO (Road Safety 2023):

Road safety a major public health and a priority for the Royal Government of Thailand. Despite having a fifth National Road Safety Master Plan in place, progress has been slow over the past two decades. According to the fifth Global Status Report on Road Safety (2023), Thailand had a road traffic death rate of 25.4 per 100 000 population in 2021, which remains one of the highest in Asia and among upper-middle-income countries. Thailand ranks ninth out of 175 WHO member countries for road traffic deaths. In 2021, WHO estimates indicated 18,218 road traffic deaths, an average of 50 per day. The most affected were those aged between 15 and 29; and motorcyclists who accounted for 83.8% of all traffic deaths. According to Thailand Development Research Institute Foundation (TDRI), the economic loss due to road traffic related deaths and severe injuries is estimated at 531,058 million Thai Baht (approximately 15.51 billion US dollars) in 2022, which is equivalent to 3.06% of the GDP.

Arrest mean nothing. It's the conviction (the consequences) that people avoid. Unless you are poor, or have a drug problem, you have no fear of the law.

Thai police report 90% arrest rate in crime crackdown

What crackdown?

Arrests doesn't mean that the people that have been arrested are convicted for the crime the people are arrested for does it.

Where are the Real Numbers for the convicted  people that have been arrested.

No numbers so this crackdown means Nothing.

90% eh.. based on what? if you know that you cracked down on 90% that automatically means you know what 100% is.. but i think its not possible to know who is a criminal prior to investigation ..so the 90% number is for show only and could be 5%

seems i am bored
