looked  at a few Condos in BKK last week

The agent called me last Friday at 4pm to come to an area called

 Ramkhamhaeng 26

Lumpini Ville condos

Anyway please tell me what this area is like ?

I looked at the Condo 1.8 million they wanted

Its near a stadium and I could see the railway station from the Condo window

It's in a area which is busy road  opposite a KFC .

It was dark outside

Anyone live near there

Lumpini Ville condos

Ramkhamhaeng 26

Why the 26?

It was dark all I could see was traffic and KFC

IS it a good investment?

The '26' is because it is in the 26th sub soi of Ramkamhaeng.

It is a mostly Thai area, also with a big University.

It depends what you want it for, rental/investment or for you to live there.

If it is for you to live in, where do you have to go for work? This is far from the main Sukhumvit area, so only useful if you work in that area. There is a lot of traffic in this area and no BTS/MRT at present (coming I believe).

If it is for investment/rental, it is an OK area as many Thai's to rent it and also many Uni students. You would need to check the rental values of the building at the noticeboards in the building or online. It will not be high rental rates.

I rented an apartment for a couple of months 10 years ago about a kilometre from there, between Raja Mangala Stadium and The Nine Shopping Centre on Phra Ram 9.

Traffic at peak times can horrendous, especially on Ramkhamhaeng Road and everywhere else when there are stadium events.

The University area has plenty of visual appeal (aka eye candy), and The Mall Bangkapi is an excellent shopping centre.

There's a few young westerners around studying at the Uni, but its mainly a Thai area and you will need to speak some Thai.

There's two 50-meter pools at the Huamark Sports Centre, located next to the stadium.

The Huamark Airport Link provides easy travel access and is close to the airport.

Consider renting an apartment for a couple of nights to explore the area.

You'll find great daily accommodations at nearby @Home Residence.
