seajae
Did my usual transfer from my Australian bank through Wise and Wise have issued me with a new account to deposit to, they have given me a new BSB as well as a new account number to use that they say is set for me only as the one I have been using for them for many years now will no longer be valid. I tried to use the new details with my bank to do the transfer and it set off a major alarm as fraud and my bank rejected the transfer making me use my old details but Wise informed that after this payment I can no longer use those details as they are shutting down that account. I messaged my bank as well as Wise, my bank is saying that as far as they are concerned it is fraud, Wise says they are fine, problem now is I am unable to transfer money to Thailand till it is sorted. Have any other Wise users in here been given new deatails regarding where they send their money to so that it can be transfered to Thailand by Wise, I do not want to use a fraudulent account to send my money to so need to see if any other users from Australia have been told to change their account details for Wise Australia pty ltd that they transfer to from their aussie bank

Popular Post norbra
I agree that you should contact Wise directly as it sounds very much like a scam. I had problems some years ago, phantom transactions, Wise cleared my account but these transactions persisted. I opened a new Wise account using a different email address and I have had no problems since. I then closed my initial account. oldcpu
If my memory serves me correctly, sometime back Wise changed the details of the Australian wise accounts. I can't recall the timing or details at present, but it was not in the past few weeks, but rather announced a good number of months ago. However there may have been a grace period associated with this. I recommend contacting Wise directly to attempt to obtain clarification and details on this. seajae
to update, I have contacted Wise and they have said the Australian banks are not updating the BSB numbers fast enough to have my new BSB in their lists of accepted bsb's, my bank is going to give me a call next week to talk to me about it so will update again after I have spoken to my bank. I did get notified 2 months ago but it was after my transfer so I dint worry about it, this week I checked before my transfer and was given the new details which would mean my bank is a few months behind in updating bsb's which is a bit strange. Emails from Wise to my queries are being sent from EMAIL REMOVED so it does look genuine Edited Sunday at 03:10 AM by ElwoodP
norbra
Maybe why I have not had any problems or notifications of changes is I pay Wise by PAYID and not bank transfer method. I use Westpac bank.

Emails from Wise to my queries are being sent from EMAIL REMOVED so it does look genuine I just think banks are rejecting more new account setups as they are under pressure from scams. I opened a new account about 6 months ago. In August I setup my Wise PayId to send money to Wise. When I tried to transfer money it was denied and my account was locked. I transferred from my other bank. Had to call my bank to unlock everything and tell them the payee is not a scam. Great. Last month I tried to transfer and again it was denied. Another call and many requests to explain why after 2 months of creating the PayId and having it cleared, it was still blocked. The best they could do was say it was automatically detected by software. In the end I have finally managed to get it to work. Good luck.

I have Westpac a/c and transfer from that (bank app) to WISE who in turn transfer to my Kasikorn Thai bank. I just received an email from WISE (see screenshot) Is part of it. Tomorrow I need to do another transfer. Not sure how to update my details. Anyone else dealing with this. oldcpu Posted yesterday at 11:17 AM Share Posted yesterday at 11:17 AM (edited) Yes. I saw something on my Wise a while back for my Australian Wise details. In the end she typed for my transfer tomorrow to note change of WISE account details and then when I transfer from my Westpac account to change (update) Wise account details. At least that was my take away. I do 120k baht every month so tomorrow might do a small transfer say 20k and "see how it goes" Edit: I'm reading it differently to you. Fraser Brown
I have noted on my Wise file that account details will change for AUD payments. (I don't recall how I received this notification, being an ex banker I recall doing some checks to verify). Old Account details - Wise Australia P/L BSB 802-985, A/C# ending 729 Cuscal Limited. New Account details - Wise Australia Pty Ltd BSB 774-001 A/C# ending 696. Wise indicated you could use both account numbers until 10 September 2024 after which time the old Account could not be used. I did an initial low value test payment from my Westpac account. I did receive an initial warning advise from Westpac to exercise extreme care as a new payee. Test payment completed successfully and I have continued to use the New Account.

Assuming I understand your question correctly ... - Log into Wise with a browser - In the "Home" menu click on the "AUD" account - Look under the circle (with Australian flag) where it says "AUD balance" and it will state in a large font how much you have in AUD. Under that in very small font will be a small 'account #' (with an orange circle and exclamation mark in front and a 'greater than' simple to the right of the small number account number). CLICK ON THAT number That should give you your account details. At least that works for me. Edited 12 hours ago by oldcpu

Some time ago Wise added (in my mind) a wallet you can transfer the funds into. I have just ignored that. My balance is zero. I hit "send" Wise then asks for recipient. I hit a previous transfer recipient (my Thai account) Then proceed with filling in fields such as reason for transfer. Then when asks to choose my Oz bank I choose Westpac and tick "funds already sent" Meaning transfered Westpac to Wise. Then open my Westpac app and transfer the funds. This is screenshot of what they want.
Fraser Brown
The full Wise new A/C details - Wise Australia Pty Ltd BSB 774001 Account number ******** You set up a new Payee using these details via your Westpac Account. Westpac should verify details correct. As mentioned when I initially set up mine I received a warning notice of a first time payee to exercise caution. (My initial "test"payment I think was AUD10/20). In the message in your Westpac Bank remittance make sure to include in the "Description" your Wise Account number. Once you send your AUD payment as detailed log back to Wise and confirm payment sent. You should be able to confirm the Wise Account details I have included in the Wise App/Website. (Please check as you should always verify details for yourself) I also do not have funds with Wise, only send AUD remittance after setting up payment with Wise. Hope this assists.... I removed your account number as I think that's specific to you. (yes seems strange) So update. I just added $30aud to Wise account. After placing order I opened Westpac app and ignored my listed payee for Wise and added "new payee" with the details you outlined in your post. Different account number to your details. Same account name and same BSB as per your post. Thanks everyone. Believe I'm good to go. Will transfer later today and report.

Believe I'm good to go. Will transfer later today and report. Glad to read its working now. Once setup, with such an account, one does NOT need to maintain money in a currency in order to get the account details in the future. For example, currently I have no money in Hungarian forint. So if I click on "HUF" I get a circle (with Hungarian flag) and "0 HUF" in large font. Under that is a small (the account #I assume) with a "greater than" symbol to the right ofthe small number. I CLICK on the small number. It gives me my HUF account details (for receiving money from a bank in Hungary). I don't use such, as I don't have an HUF account (I set this up some years back for travel to Hungary). I ended up cancelling that trip, so I withdrew money out of HUF (converted to a different currency). But I still have the HUF account. The point is, once setup, even with no money in a particular currency, one can still get the account details. The foreign currency 'account' has thou, to have been setup first. It reads now that you are setup again - and good to go. Great news ! Edited 10 hours ago by oldcpu

Fraser Brown
Whoops sorry, now read your message. You masked the account number. That number is the Wise general Account. What identifies you is your Personal number, mine starts with "P" that is the number to include in the payment description.

I can't confidently speak for transfers from Australia to Wise but for transfers from : * a German bank to Wise sometimes for me takes close to 24 hours - and sometimes a LOT quicker - and on very rare occasions longer * a Canadian bank to Wise sometimes for me takes MORE than 24 hours - and sometimes a LOT quicker - and on very rare occasions longer. I typically try to transfer any money to Wise very long in advance, such that any Wise delay won't impact my plans.
DrJack54
This WISE transfer is going from bad to worse. You can type with WISE person (not a BOT) anyway no joy. Stating that the transfer to WISE can take time. "Don't panic" Previously never taken "time" Instant withdrawal of funds from Westpac and 5 hours later not yet landed with WISE. Previously in my Thai bank in quick time. From screenshot: now 5 hours + just to go from my Westpac account to WISE. Damn
