I am trying to find a place to buy a tent like what is seen for the vendors on the marketplaces. Does anyone know where I can find those for sale? Every time I google or search online all I find are the tents for camping or the foldable ones that are cheap and rip, tear or bend easily.

If you mean this sort of thing ... Try searching for canopy or gazebo, instead of tent.

Yeah... had 2 of these already wasting over 4000 baht... they are crap and the tops rip as soon as there is a storm. Rain stretches them by collecting in small areas that grow bigger also. Wind rips them apart. The welding also broke during a rainstorm dropping on top of my car. i will try searching what you suggested

Your local Wat probably has some more substantial gazebos for their events. Ours rents them out too. Maybe you could ask where they got them.

There are many intents AN subscribers. They are good guys. Know the ropes and may offer intelligent advice. Unlike mine.😉

I have a gazebo and it has no welding anywhere. The steel poles are all joined with strong plastic devices.

Sounds like the ones you bought are cheap Chinese junk.

I live in an area with frequent storms and strong winds most of the time, and my canopies last about a year. If leaving them up it's necessary to put ropes across all sides to stop them flapping about too much. Adding some extra tie downs stops rain pooling.

Where did you buy it?

I don't live in Thailand, so not there. It should be possible to find a decent one even there though.

The suggestion that you check with local temples is a good one.

My suggestion to use ropes over the canopy for when it's windy is good. Without them mine would have been shredded long ago. DON'T use a hard rope though as it will make holes that will start a tear. I use very soft synthetic rope.

Where I live is very windy, but a canopy lasts a year with the ropes over. Have to be tied really tightly.

A picture is worth a thousand words. 4 ropes. 1 across each side

Try doing an internet search.

There are about 5 or more sites of dealers about tents in Thailand and at least one of them should be able to help you out,

Tell them what you are looking for and they may have it or something similar, or be able to put you in touch with helpful groups.

tents in Thailand was the search term I used.
