Get rid of ALL the military, money problem solved.

Why not get rid of all those who claim benefits illegally which is theft. Jail them and stop their pensions and benefit claims for life, especially those that live offshore.

The problem won't be solved completely, but it will be a start.

Can't remember where I read it, but it was a government official saying if you are just claiming basic pension they will not be looking at your bank accounts. If claiming pension credits and other benefits where the 16k limit on saving applies they will be. This vid seems to be scaremongering suggesting if you are claiming your pension only they will be looking at your account, why would they if that's all you are claiming and  entitled to and it's not means tested, yet.?

They have the ability to look at your accounts to see if you have additional inflow if cash for example from second homes and not declaring it to HMRC. They can also see if there is money being received that could be tracked to illegal iswsvsucjvas drug money , yes who would be silly enough to put that straight into a bank ...but , also they will be able to see if money is being sent regularly overseas for example Thailand and wallop pension frozen ... So there are a few reasons  they will be looking  even if you are not on benefits ....

Can you show a link where it is confirmed that they will be able to do this/intend to do this, if you are not on benefits?

I am sure it will happen at some point but I don't think it is intended with the initial set up which is still some years away from going live from what I have read.

You guys are getting bent out of shape over this and more to the point seem to be oblivious over what our Government and other official bodies know about us routinely

I have every reason to know thats accurate.......for reasons I'm not going into but those said officials in the UK even knew what tiny clinic I was born in West Germany island of Sylt (I'm British) despite myself never knowing it or my parents ever mentioning it.....not (obviously) on birth certificates or anywhere.......when for the first time I raised a wry smile and the guy said do you want to know the colour of your first babygro

I'm not remotely joking

Background checks run on 75% of Brits routinely without us every knowing or any action taken

Rest assured if you're in Thailand (or anywhere overseas) it takes the DWP 30 seconds to validate and in which country

It all comes down to "resources" and is it worth going after the individual. 99% of the time it isnt

Depending on what you mean by background checks but anything more than basic credit checking I would like to see some support for your 75% figure ?

30 seconds....I suggest that is logically and logistically impossible........unless you are suggesting we are all micro chipped.........

Indeed, it took them over six months to get their heads around the fact that I live in Thailand! A fact I declared from the very start!

DWP systems were fully interlined with Passport Control in December 2023

DWP with one click can see I departed UK on October 9th (they'd have no reason to enquire) with a final destination of Thailand

Until Passport Control notify them its been further activated (if its being requested) then they know exactly where I am (or you) etc

If you are on watched list the minute you check in from overseas to return to UK then the moment the passport is scanned at check in then a reception committee is organised at the landing port of call

Again I have first hand experience of the latter in 2014 totally unrelated to what I posted earlier

The UK government knows exactly what country you are in (but not exact location obviously) 365 days of the years 24 hours a day

As one would expect.

However unless a specific request is made would the information that you have travelled, whether by land, air, sea or rail, to any of a no. of neighbouring (or even far flung) countries after being in your original destination country, be passed back to the UK that quickly if at all?

No, I only post lies, it's just for fun.

It's not as if I was stalking an elderly Aussie guy, pretending to be a young Thai woman from forum to forum.

Absolutely correct, I found it quite weird what he was doing, stalking the poster at every opportunity but then again nothing much else to do living in Nakhon Nowhere.

There seems to be some denials by government on various aspects of the bill. They are out to get fraudsters and will be looking at info from banks in luding foreign payments etc it seems a quick Google will give som support to what I originally read and as support image.thumb.jpeg.269021370c4a7214f7f98a383bc45bb8.jpeg

That bill has been prorogued and will not proceed any further.  The new government has something else in the offing (DWP Fraud, Error and Debt Bill) but it hasn't had its first reading yet as far as I can tell.

I bet you that @transam will come back and say that even though it is not (yet) an act of Parliament that we are all still doomed in a few months time even though it has little or nothing to do with non benefit claims rather than just stand alone Stae Pensions!
