You misunderstand me. I never said they said they would reinstate increases.  I said that the now Chancellor Angela Rayner supported uprating pensions before but has not mentioned it since being in government. It's the issue that's been dropped not any proposed legislation.

Raynor isn't the chancellor but her pre election promises are worth about as much as the guy who  promised "Don't worry I won't <deleted> in you"  when he got her preggers as a teenager 👍

What is it with boomers assuming that everything hell anything politicians say is true?

You guys are far too old to keep falling for the same BS

However that doesn't detract from the fact that freezing pensions based solely on geography is monstrous.

If you actually did your homework you find that it has nothing to do with "geography" and all to do with reciprocation!

Winter payments finished with Labour.

Previously the Cons sent it out with no forms required.

Did you think there was a form sent out?

Because the answer was always no.

Wrong!

The £10 winter allowance is automatic but the £200/£300 had to be applied for with proof of residence/declaration that you were resident in the UK on a certain (changeable) date which was usually in September!

Just wait until they means test the state pension. Have a half decent private pension then they will stop the state pension completely. And now when you die your private pension is considered for inheritance tax.

More hypothetical rubbish conjecture from yet another tin foil hat wearer!

My chum who lives here but doesn't, has lost his winter payment, it seems you have to fill in a form to try and keep it, now I reckon you will not go anywhere near a form, eh.....😋

That's because he's on benefits, I don't claim benefits.

If you are sending it to a Thais account that does not prove you are living here

This is the DWP we are talking about. They wont let a little thing like truth getting in the way of freezing your pension.

Don't know as I never received 200/300GBP.

They sent me 250GBP when my UK address had 2 other pensioners living there (they also received 250GBP each), and 500GBP when they had both died. Along with 10GBP Christmas bonus.

One of the problems I have with these posts, is that none of you seem to really know the correct information. I can't explain the difference between your fantasy and my reality.

Not hypothetical. The idea on means testing has been discussed.

The honesty rating of the Government, and the previous Government, is zero.

They would notice a lack of UK withdrawals or that you didn't spend any money in the UK

Proves nothing you might be living off wifes income

I am quoting last years rates!

I have no knowledge of the dates of your payments!
