Not sure the details, but seems like if you are one of the ones in Thailand and not reporting it. Just go back to the UK for a while and make sure to cover your tracks.

All that money lost, is it 10 years worth? 10 years worth? that is a bitter blow truly a bitter blow, never mind its only money, not worth getting those long johns of yours in a twist    LOL  remember all those jibes, from years ago while sporting a frozen pension, admit it must have made you feel better convincing others that belonging in your frozen pit was comforting, damned cold tho

It still seems to be active. Going through the standing committee stage of the House of Lords. Very close to becoming an Act.

Click on the "News" tab on that page and it'll show you progress on it stopped in April this year. That front page shows where it was when it halted.

You obviously have little idea what to expect if the UK Government wants to get serious about fraudsters

Get real, they can't even get serious about illegal immigrants flooding in to the country on a daily basis. They cost billions a year.

My friend got done for sickness  benefit fraud .

He was claiming sickness benefit and living in Thailand

He went to his yearly signing on meeting at the D.S.S and they asked him if he'd been to Thailand in the last year

He said that he hadn't been to Thailand .

The DSS then logged onto his Facebook page and showed him the photos he posted on facebook of him in Thailand , all dared and everything .

   He couldn't deny it

That's all it has ever been, could be for housing benefit, Universal Credit, Pension credit as u say ,sickness benefit...not state pension for sure

If you are sending it to a Thais account that does not prove you are living here

What if the officer is sitting there with your UK immigration record and he can see when you've entered the UK and noticed that you have only arrived back in the UK last week ,arrived back  for the first time in ten years , what would you say then ?

What is the justification that Phillipines is index linked but living in rest of Asia is not ?

Phillipines arranaged a reciprocal agreement because of the number of Philliine nurses woring in the UK thus earning and qualifyin =g for UK pensions so trhat htye contnued to receive upgrades if/when they returned to Phillipines.  That UK expats in Phillipines benefit is a side effect

My friend was nabbed, but it was for PENSION, not OTHER benefits or disability claim..............🤭

Why do folk here keep getting confused over posted facts, why, because they read others twisted facts..................🤗

I remember you saying it wasn't for pension, was a benefit.

Wrong!

The £10 winter allowance is automatic but the £200/£300 had to be applied for with proof of residence/declaration that you were resident in the UK on a certain (changeable) date which was usually in September!

Absolutely not, I didn't have to fill any form in for winter fuel allowance, if the house had a pensioner living there was paid automatically.

Winter payments finished with Labour.

Previously the Cons sent it out with no forms required.

Did you think there was a form sent out?

Because the answer was always no.

The Winter Fuel payment was paid to everyone who received the State Pension.

One did not need to claim it as such - I never did but it started automatically after I reached State Penson age and claimed my State Pension.

So for each of 3 years I received a letter from DWP telling me when I would get my payment. It was £200 in 2021, £500 in 2022 and £500 in 2023  including Pensioner Cost of Living Payment.

It has now been changed such that you have be in receipt of certain benefits to qualify for it

https://www.gov.uk/winter-fuel-payment/eligibility  so in 2024 my letter confirmed that change and therefore I will not receive it this year.

Suggest there are many twists here, fiery jealousy too. By any chance were u not the other participant of the "official letter hoax" along with nick? its on record if any denial     . but then there have been so many tales of grief from you especially "knew people" " 3 of ,em"  down to one later "£1000 quid fines" "civil servant knocking on doors" it goes on forever    but  I find  comfort I've been there since retirement, never lost a penny in SP rises, not one penny,  as for you ?  gulp

First off - is there a system in place for tracking UK citizens leaving and entering the county? I don't believe there is.....

There most certainly is - API has been in place for 20 years Exit checks fact sheet - GOV.UK

And, of course when you enter UK you have to scan your passport or go to the desk and see an IO

The simple fact that the government can get details from your bank in order to detect FRAUD , is nothing NEW. Now for example they know where you are due to the Biometric details utilising the UK Customs and Excise departments .

Nothing new, those that maintain a UK address to get the uprating of pensions and benefits are not only acting criminally but also very stupidly . I have known one or two that have been caught and also some that still try to get around the system , although in honesty those numbers are dwindling as people realise the futility of their actions.

24 years ago I knew the facts and figures relating to pensions especially their Old Age Pension, those that claim ignorance are themselves ignorant . No-one in their right mind moves to relocate to another country and does not check on every part of your life that will be affected including pensions.

The 3 year letter to prove life is as ludicrous as it is stupid, however it satisfies some oik in a Government Office somewhere and I would hate to deprive that person of a job . After nearly 24 years here The only problem has been postal notifications so 23 years ago acquired a PO Box, now no problems. If you have a problem solve it and stop bloody moaning

not knowing the subject and waffling on about the  self same subject, is quite rightly as you state, stupidity

There is , but all they have to do is to request you provide your passport for them to see and they will see all the Thai entry and exit stamps
