   I disagree .

Use a dodgy agent , they can avoid complying with the rules .

Could even be that immigration are making the rules more stringent for the sole purpose that people use the dodgy  agents

Disagree about what?  Key word again: Reputable.

Been using TikTok in Jomtien for years.  Never had an issue.  Same as many other satisfied customers.

Professional and prompt.

All rules complied with except waiting in lines with sweaty people.

This year is different.  I applied for and was accepted for the BOI LTR Wealthy Pensioner 10 year visa.

Don't hate me because of that.

As Immigration allow entry to those people on tourists visas , then they aren't doing anything wrong

Depends on which immigration officer is looking at it.

Regarding the guy in question, it's plainly obvious ' he's been playing the system '  which is all well and good, until somebody decides it isn't.

He should be applying for a Non 0 as nobody spends 17 months on holiday, he knows it, and they know it.

Depends on your history in Thailand, the longer and more sketchy, the higher the price.  I think it starts around 1500-2000?  After that the sky is the limit until the agent tells you they can't help you.

2K to 3.5K - maybe 500 Baht more if long history, per this agent-post:

They utterly ruined it for those who adhered to what were then very lenient regulations.

It looks like the same will happen with the DT Visas. Making it a pain in the backside and so much harder for decent folks who screw the bobbin and adhere to the regs

You mean, when Immigration "ruined it," by denying entry for false-reasons, to  push folks into agent-assisted visas, crazy-priced "elite" visas, and agent "pre-clearance" (formerly called "VIP Service") for serial visa-exempts?

That move caused entire blocks of shops in tourist areas to go bankrupt - more with each "crackdown" - but they got their envelopes, which is all they care about.
