American married couple, one is 62, other is 35. The 62 year old can get a NON-O, but what type of visa for the under 50 person ?  We are thinking of soft power DTV ?

The younger can get a non-O piggy-backing on the others non-O.  And should they get an extension to stay long term can do the same on that also.  The older should get their non-o first and the younger shortly after, as the olders visa will be needed for the application.

Non-Immigrant O (Visiting Non-Thai Family Residing in Thailand)

The following documents must be uploaded in the E-visa system in large and clear JPEG or PDF format (the file size must not exceed 3MB):

  1. Passport biodata page or travel document (must be valid within 6 months from travel date)
  2. Photograph of the applicant, taken within the past six months
  3. Document indicating current location (driver's license, bank statement, or proof of stay)
  4. A copy of a recent savings or checking bank statement showing an ending balance of at least $1,000 per person or $2,000 per family, with the applicant's name and date. If submitting a family bank statement (joint account), proof of relationship (e.g., birth certificate, marriage certificate) must be provided
  5. Personal details of a non-Thai family member in Thailand, such as a valid government-issued ID card, passport with Thai visa page, work permit, or stay permit in Thailand
  6. Proof of relationship to a non-Thai family member in Thailand (immediate family only), such as a copy of the marriage certificate, birth certificate, or adoption certificate

Thanks, so after the older one gets his NON-O, submit the above on the E-Visa system ?

I read that is only good for 90 days the NON-O visiting Non Thais. can it be extended ?

All non-O visas are good for 90 days.  Assuming 62 gets an annual extension then 35 can do the same.

To best understand non O ....it's a single entry visa that gives a 90 day stamp (permission of stay)

Prior to expiry of that 90 days you obtain a 12 month extension.

Ongoing to live in Thailand you keep extending (annually) your permission of stay.

You are not extending the Non O visa (it's used)

Note if you wish to exit Thailand you need to buy a reentry permit..
