From the moment Biden got elected it was obvious the next republican candidate would be from the MAGAverse. Top priority from day one should have been the identification of a next-generation centrist democrat who had some chance of re-uniting the country. That should have been the DNC's job to make it happen.

I'm old and don't have children, so I'm going to stop worrying about politics and just hope the Social Security checks keep coming  😊

I'm honestly worried about my pension. I think back how the Greek government bent their retirees over and slammed it home, no lube, with their austerity programs. My pension is linked to Social Security and these asshats implementing their DOGE garbage ideas haven't a clue. Ramaswamy was floating the idea of firing every civil servant whose social security number ended in an odd number, and they've been salivating over privatizing Social Security ever since Reagan started using the fund like it was his personal piggy bank.. THESE are the best we can hire?!?

This is what happens when hype triumphs over reason. The money has to come from somewhere to pay for the tax cuts Trump is promising.

In Australia, any conservative government that tries to mess with welfare gets a bloody nose from the voters at the next election.

In America, the turkeys voted for Christmas. It's coming.

Trump is going to impose tariffs of 25% on imports from Canada and Mexico, from Day One. 35% on imports from China.

I would like an intelligent Trump supporter to explain to me the following:

1/ How this policy will not cause the cost of living to rise in America, with consequent inflation.

2/ How this policy will not provoke retaliatory actions from those countries, making American exports less competitive.

The tariffs on Mexico an Canada will only be there until they close their sides of the border. Tariffs are just one of Trump's favourite negotiating tools and they will work in this case.

I guess you haven't caught up with Mexico and Canada's threats of retaliation.

How do you know tariffs will work? IIRC Trump's tariffs on China resulted in American farmers losing massive amounts of market share to other countries, and I don't recall the Mexicans paying one cent towards Trump's wall.
