So the mayor of Denver is threatening to turn the place into Tianamen Square backed by "Highland" moms. I guess they must wear kilts? Sound ferocious. I hope that would Hohman said will come true and these people that are in leadership are charged with felonies if they aid and abet illegals or obstruct justice.

Colorado is destined to go down the tubes, just like CA, NY and others.

Yes. Colorado and Minnesota are the California and New York of the middle states. I hear Denver and Boulder are going down hill daily.

9NEWS asked the mayor several times what his plan is on day one if federal forces or national guardsmen from other states show up in Colorado. He said right now there is no plan, but city leaders are hoping to come up with one before the inauguration in January.

Looks to me like a decent thing to do. In 20 years time many books will be written and many movies will be made about such acts of resistance.

America will then be reborn.

Obama deported millions of illegals, over 412k in 2012 alone, did this guy protest about that? It seems OK when they do it, resistance for resistance sake.

Colorado began that slide when the were one of the first states to legalize weed. I have nothing against weed but this made every worthless stoner in the USA move there. The only thing more concentrated than the THC was the stupidity of those chasing it.

As a professional stoner, I agree.

Can't blame Trump anymore so you blame weed?

Quantum leap that one is.

Reborn into a third world hellhole rife with crime and violence.

I thought it was already that in some places.

Political rhetoric and some crafty MAGAites realizing that people like Mike Johnston are a threat to the MAGA manifesto.

The mayor is popular. He is young, white and happily married with 3 kids. Not even the slightest hint of scandal attaches to him. A graduate of Yale and Harvard, he is also a lawyer with deep community roots in a community distinguished by a large latino population.  In order to calm their fears, he offers his words of defiance. Denver cannot afford a mass panic, because the businesses that rely on these workers would have to shut their doors. Who then would clean the floors at the hospitals, or change the diapers in the  nursing homes? The slaughterhouses would shut down.

The reality is that the local police cannot  enforce immigration laws. Nor can they stand guard on county borders unless it is to enforce a local law. The state can always take control of the police department if there is an issue. The mayor is representing the people of his city and his powers are limited to civic issues.

Texas should send all busses with illigal immigrants to Denver instead of NYC. If they think it's a good thing, you have to give them more of it.

Local authorities sharing information and other means of cooperation with  federal agencies is NOT enforcement.  This happens to be standard practice with many police departments.

And what does the education and lifestyle of the mayor have to do with this?

Why do these people want to protect people illegally in the country, is it purely to defy trump and make a name for them selves while doing it.... like Leticia James.

I can't link for folks as it would take several pages if I could remember any of the news articles I have read about the problems with the illegal immigrants.  Some states or City leaders of a particular party, had criminal laws amended/changed so that any theft of ariticles under a certain value i.e. 1000 USD 950 USD 900 USD, etc and this IMHO so that many of those places would not have to fill up the jails with Blm rioters and their spawning of gangs to loot department stores and since none of the "criminals" stealing articles would carry only less than the stated amount so the police could not arrest them.  Other changes allowed some of these criminals to not have to pay bail to be released on their own recognizance and then be arrested again and again and again - no joking, as one criminal arrested for armed hijacking and released 8 times during a year, was shot to death by an undercover police officer as he tried to hijack the policeman using a pistol!   Other criminals since there were no available space to let them live in, the city closed schools so that the illegals could stay in the school buildings - what about your kids and learning? - other city employees elsewhere were given shorter work weeks (without the pay for that) because the city was short on funds to take care of the the illegal immigrants - so those workers can't hardly survive anyway as pay is not that high so why should tax dollars go to non-citizens who are in need?  In some states, like

MD, in one county they received a hold and wait or fed officers after the feds received an arrest of a known criminal but this particular country did not like the ICE folks and when the officers arrived, that criminal had been released so that the ICE officers could not arrest him - known for several violent crimes!  Sorry those are just off the top of my head and you might understand why so many people are against the allowing of illegal immigrants to continue pouring across US borders daily!
