Police from Krathum Baen Police Station in Samut Sakhon were alerted at approximately 08.00 on November 28, to a fatal crash involving a bicycle and a trailer truck. The incident occurred on Sukhonthawit Road, heading toward Ban Phaeo, in Talad Subdistrict, Krathum Baen District. Pol. Lt. Col. Thawisak Lekkla, an investigator, along with medical personnel from Krathum Baen Hospital and Ruamkatanyu Foundation rescue workers, responded to the scene.

 

Upon arrival, authorities discovered two victims, a man and a woman, both pronounced dead at the scene. The female victim sustained a head injury, a fractured right leg, and lacerations on her left wrist. The male victim had a head wound, a broken arm, and abrasions on his body.

 

Nearby, authorities found a green Turdo bicycle with a severely damaged rear wheel lying in the middle of the road. According to a Myanmar national who knew the victims, the two were husband and wife.

 

At the scene, a Yamaha Mio motorcycle, license plate from Samut Sakhon, was parked on the roadside with some front-end damage. Close by was a white ISUZU trailer truck, license plate from Nakhon Pathom; trailer license plate from Nakhon Pathom. The truck driver, Mr. Wandi Khamek, 59, was present at the scene and cooperated with authorities.

 

Mr. Wandi explained that the bicycle had been traveling in the left lane when it swerved to avoid a parked car. At the same time, a motorcycle collided with the bicycle, causing the cyclist to lose control and fall into the truck’s path.

 

Police conducted a preliminary investigation at the scene and have taken both the motorcycle and truck drivers to Krathum Baen Police Station for further questioning. The bodies of the victims have been sent to Siriraj Hospital’s forensic institute for autopsy. Legal proceedings will follow based on the findings of the investigation.
