Don't disparage public schools - the best of them are the most competitive in the nation.

*Triam

*PDS (private/public)

*Wittayasorn

*Suankularb

*Samsen

Sattriwittaya

Prasarnmit (Intl side)

Triam Patt (/1-/5)

Bodindecha 1

*Demonstration schools

Most of these schools will have far better, brighter students than private schools. Not all mind you - but most.

With few exceptions private schools are nothing special although the better ones will pay more than publics.

Public school entry salary cutoff is 42k with exception of one special school. The best privates entry is 50-75k with odd outliers of 80-90k. Any lucky dumbshlt can land a job here at 50k. To get 60k usually takes a real teacher or the serious foundation of an up and comer.

The crap salary is obviously commensurate with the ability to do a crap job.

Then don't sign the contract. No one forced you to travel half way round the world to pretend to teach.

It's all totally irrelevant with AI and where tech is today. So ironic dinosaur teachers don't see this, but wholly unsurprising

Not going to go into detail but I had a similar experience with teaching in China. I hated every minute and left after a few weeks.

I've been teaching TEFL in Thailand for nearly 20 years, also after completing a CELTA.  Not sure why you went down the kindergarten route, as the CELTA course is specifically for teaching English to adults.  There are lots of language school opportunities in Bangkok and in other provinces where you can focus on teaching adults (sometimes older teenagers) rather than young children.  You won't earn much to start, although my starting salary back in 2005 was 34,000 baht a month, which is what some places seem to be paying now.  The higher quality language institutes (British Council, AUA, ECC, Wall Street, New Cambridge) will start you on a much higher rate.

I read far enough to know the answer to this one, no job offers.
