Aussie999 Posted December 2, 2024 Posted December 2, 2024 Here's one solution, allow a foreigner, married to a Thai national, to own 100% land and house, but on dying, it is transferred to his Thai partner.... this would also work on owning a business.. if the partnership fails, everything is sold, then monies are split 51/49, in favour of the foreigner who has made the financial investment, providing the relationship has exceed a threshold, eg 5 years. 1

Lets also build some massive Chinese communties all over Thailand. They do realize there are about 1.5 BILLLION chinese basically next door who would change the entire country of Thailand very quickly.? Add in all the investors from other countries and see how it works out for those who want Thailand to remain Thailand...spoiler alert: Not Well. Go take a look at shinaoukville in Cambodia and see how that worked out so far. 2

I bought my condo from a very sweet Thai lady who is also the concierge, for only 900k THB. With that she was able to build a 2 bed bungalow back home in Buriram for her mum for 700k THB. On a rai plot she already owned. People's perceptions are so distorted. Western values and figures simply don't apply here.

Seems most people on this forum don't. Why do they think they know what's best for Thais and Thailand? They draw ridiculous parallels with London, Paris, Berlin, Russian oligarchs, Saudi oil barons and the like. These people are, or were, stratospherically rich. The London property market was a no brainer. There is no comparison with a rai of land in Issan! Or even a beach plot on an island which will set you back a few bob.
