Bangkok has been named the most-booked destination in the world for 2025 by Agoda, with Thailand coming in as the second most popular country for tourists. This was announced by deputy government spokesperson Sasikarn Wattanachan, highlighting Thailand’s growing status as a major travel hotspot.

Additionally, the esteemed American magazine Travel + Leisure has recognized Thailand as the prime tourist destination for 2025. The country's rich culture, delectable food, and unique blend of traditional and modern experiences make it a top choice for travelers.

Thailand offers an array of attractions, and Bangkok shines bright with its vibrant culture, diverse dining options, and lively LGBTQ+ community. Agoda's data not only crowns Bangkok as the number-one booked city but also the second most favored destination worldwide, emphasizing Thai tourism’s allure.

Moreover, Thailand's stunning offerings include over 1,430 beautiful islands, promising adventures for every traveler. The Thai government is actively advancing tourism efforts. The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) is promoting domestic travel, particularly in the bustling months of November and December.

To accommodate the surge in tourists, various government initiatives are in place. These include the Ease of Travel program, eliminating the need for the TM.6 immigration card, and increasing airline services.

These commendations and proactive measures ensure that Thailand remains a captivating and diverse destination. Its natural beauty, thrilling activities, and rich culture promise to make Thailand a must-visit location in 2025 for travelers globally.

The first half of 2024 had Japan and Tokyo as number one with Bangkok replacing Tokyo towards the end of the year.  I like both countries, but Thailand is more affordable plus we have relatives and many long-time friends.

I have traveled extensively in Japan when the yen was 270 to the dollar.

Today the dollar buys much less.

I am not a fan of big cities and never travel to Bangkok, instead visiting friends in Chonburi, Petchaburi and Mae Khlong.

Yeah, but probably 50th for repeat business

I don't know about that,: The nationalities above visiting most likely do not care about the same things Westerners complain about

I would put Thailand at the bottom of almost any list, not sure what appeal this place has to some people, I just find it to be a cesspool. I'm sure it appeals to pedophiles, barstool warmers, and scammers....but anyone else? Not much.

Nothing wrong with that.  Many tourists only visit a city once because they have a long list of other cities they want to visit.  I've been to Venice once and enjoyed the visit but have no plans to ever visit again.  Ditto for Beijing, Sydney, Hong Kong, Singapore, Milan, Barcelona, Lisbon, Kyoto, Madrid, Hanoi, Rome, etc., etc., etc.
